Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet in no. 5 Fawn @iamcherrylemon

Product review: Burberry Liquid Lip Velvet in No.5 Fawn with photo swatch

Morning! Today I am sharing a quick review post on a recent makeup purchase of mine. I have ordered a Liquid lip velvet (LLV) from Burberry. There are 14 shades available but the ones I originally wanted were out of stock. In the end, I went for a more neutral and natural looking shade, Fawn.

Official product description

A new statement-making matte cream colour with a comforting, whipped texture.

Developed with a new, innovative formula that combines rich pigment, smooth application and a whipped, creamy texture to create a bold, velvet finish that lasts for up to eight hours. The comfortable, non-drying formula keeps lips supple and moisturised during wear, ensuring the colour does not dry, fade or crack.

Available in our boldest palette, each of the 14 shades coats lips with a shot of saturated colour in one gliding movement.

Joining the Lip Velvet collection, new Liquid Lip Velvet provides a light-as-air feeling and a cushion-soft sensation upon application.

£26 for 6ml, Made in Italy

Fawn is a neutral brown shade with pink/peach undertone that goes pretty well with my warm skin tone. I originally thought this will be a “MLBB” shade, it pulls more brown on me.

The packaging is very nice, same shape and size as their lipgloss range. The lid is non-shiny and the tub is frosted.
The LLV has an airy texture to it, it applies smoothly and evenly. It felt very nice on the lips, like I wasn’t wearing lipstick at all. The matte-ness does not mean it will be non-transferable. In fact, it transferred onto all my cups and glasses which I was quite disappointed by. This means I will need to touch-up more often, I guess this is no different to normal lipsticks.

I also agree that this is highly pigmented, full coverage in 1 swipe.

I did not find this to be long-lasting, but I did wear lip balm so it might worn the longetivity down by alot!
Pros:

Beautiful palette of shades available

Comfortable to wear and non-drying

Unscented

Highly pigmented

No bleeding of colour into lines

Lovely packaging
Cons:

Expensive

Not non-transferable

Not long-lasting enough
In summary, I do like how comfortable it feels and pigmented it is but it will be unlikely for me to get another shade… I would prefer it to be longer lasting.
Thank you for reading and have a great day!!

Silicone Sponge for makeup application – HYPE?

BPS Silicone Makeup Sponges @iamcherrylemon

BPS Silicone Makeup Sponges @iamcherrylemon

Hi there!! This is a rare post on the blog today (hehehe), as I don’t do enough beauty product review anymore! But I really want to blog about this product! So….. what’s all this hype about Silicone sponges?

I totally missed the rave and hoo-haaa about SiliSponge, also known as “Beauty Blender Killer”. As a beauty blender user myself, I am all fired up to test and check out this sponge!
I first came across silicone sponges on BPS (again.. yes I stalk the site), and a pack of 3 was only $4.99. So I ordered it and forgot about them until they landed on my doorsteps few weeks ago. I have been trialing out the sponges for awhile and I would like to share my thoughts on them!

What is SiliSponge and the silicone sponges in general?
SiliSponge is a product invented by an indie makeup brand in HK called “Molly Cosmetics”, they sell the SiliSponge for around $9 but they are often a sell out on their site. SiliSponge is a flat sponge shaped silicone pad, yes it does look like “chicken filets”, or even gel shoe insoles! But these sponges are quite small! BPS ones measure at 4 by 6.5 cm.

These are technially NOT sponges, as the job of a sponge is to absorb. These silicone sponges have no pores like normal sponge, so that’s why it does not absorb any of the products. Hence, it has this huge claim on “zero product waste” and half the amount of normal product usage.
Huge claims, right?

My Tests
I have used my sponges with liquid foundations (YSL , Burberry Velvet), BB/CC Creams (TonyMoly and Eborian CC cream) and cream blushes.

BPS Silicone Makeup Sponges (foundation) @iamcherrylemon

BPS Silicone Makeup Sponges (foundation) @iamcherrylemon

First day, I was skeptical about it be able to half my product usage. So I squeezed out less than normal amount of foundation (around 70%) and started dabbing! The application with this sponge does take a bit of getting used to. Please do not use the sponge to push and rub the product onto your face! You will find that it is much easier to pat and spread! After quite a bit of dabbing and padding to make sure all the product is distributed evenly, I did look really *made* up. 70% of my normal amount is obviously too much when my sponge isn’t absorbing and wasting the rest!

Silicone Sponge tryout (before) @iamcherrylemon

Silicone Sponge tryout (before) @iamcherrylemon

Silicone Sponge tryout (after) @iamcherrylemon

Silicone Sponge tryout (after) @iamcherrylemon

For the rest of the week and after, I did get away with using just half or just over half. My make up still look natural and I much prefer this. This concludes how much my brush was absorbing if I had to *use* much more then. So to validate the point about saving product, I can vouch for that.

As you can see on my photos here, there is hardly any product left on the silicone sponge.

I wash my sponges with a makeup sanitiser soap or just hand soap, before drying the sponge with a soft tissue. I put it back into the clear tiny ziplock bag it came in, ready for next use.

BPS Silicone Makeup Sponges (Before use and After use) @iamcherrylemon

BPS Silicone Makeup Sponges (Before use and After use) @iamcherrylemon

Pros:

  • Virtually no product waste, so you will use less product. This means more money to buy other makeup to play with 😉
  • Quick, easy to clean and ready for next use (fab for makeup artists!?)
  • Squishy soft and non-scratchy (check before use! mine are pretty squishy)
  • Space saving, small and easy to carry and store. Great to take on holiday instead of foundation brush plus blush brushes!
  • Replicas are everywhere and pretty cheap

Cons:

  • Might feel delicate and prone to damages (ladies with sharp nails take care)
  • Application does take some practice
  • Might not *feel* natural to use flat sponge for around the nose, eye areas but with practise, it works just fine.

Where to buy:
Born Pretty store 1 piece for $1.99 or 3 pieces for $4.99 (free shipping)
Original SiliSponge, $9.90 https://www.mollycosmeticsshop.com/products/silisponge (free shipping)

BPS Silicone Makeup Sponges @iamcherrylemon

BPS Silicone Makeup Sponges @iamcherrylemon

My final thoughts: 3.5/5

Will I throw out all my makeup brushes and beauty blenders? No, but I welcome this little addition into my makeup kit. It is a joy to use (when you have time!), and easy to look after. I would recommend you to give it a go, it might change the way you apply your makeup and it might even save you money by reducing the amount of products you will need! You can pick some silicone sponges up for as little as $2. No harm I guess?

For me, I still do not think I have mastered the skills required in order to use this sponge effectively. It takes me longer to apply my makeup, and it won’t help me when I only get 15mins to rush out of my door every morning!

I do like this product, it is clever but it is not going to change my world completely.

Thank you and take care!

Marks and Spencer Summer Beauty box 2016 – Unboxing

Marks and Spencer Summer Beauty box 2016 (box contents)

Marks and Spencer Summer Beauty box 2016 (box contents)

Hello there!

We’re approaching mid August already! Summer has truly and quietly crept in and slowly creeping out!

Today I’m sharing a quick unboxing post with you. This is the Marks and Spencer Summer Beauty box 2016. M&S curated this limited edition beauty box and selling it for only £10 when you spend £40 in store or online. A very kind lady was asking in our beauty group who wants the box as she’s placing her order but not wanting the box herself. So I was lucky to only have to pay for the box and postage!

This box’s totally RRP value is around £120, so for £10 this is the bargain of the decade! (OK a bit OTT but you get the gist!)
So, what’s inside

• Swell ultimate protect and renew serum 30ml

• Rodial Dragon’s blood hyaluronic tonic 50ml

• Philip Kingsley citrus sunshine swimcap 50ml

• Pure instant radiance hot cloth cleanser 50ml

• Ren instant firming beauty shot 10ml

• Island escape eau de toilette 25ml

•Nuxe huile prodigieuse 10ml

• Ultrasun face SPF30 25ml

• Pur correcting primer illuminate and glow 10ml

• Sun Smart sun lotion SPF30 50ml

• Leighton Denny crystal finish quick dry top coat 12ml

• Stila lip glaze raspberry 1.5ml

• Nails Inc gel one coat nail polish 10ml

• Percy and Reed volumising no oil oil 30ml

I’ve started using the Ultra sun and keeping it in my handbag. It is my top choice for sun protection for face  (my review here).

I wasn’t too sure when I found out about the fragrance as I just don’t get along with many. But I’m surprised to find that M&S Escape smells refreshing and floral. It is a very pretty scent.

I can’t wait to test out the Leighton Denny fast drying top coat!

Unfortunately, this box is already sold out. But keep an eye out for future releases as M&S beauty boxes are usually pretty good value! This time, the entire box is very well put together and great for summer.
Thank you for reading and have a sunny warm day!

Innisfree Hydrogel Mask (Perfect 9 Repair and Green Tea) review @iamcherrylemon

Innisfree hydro gel masks (Green Tea and Perfect 9 Repair) #K-Beauty skincare review

Innisfree Hydrogel Mask (Perfect 9 Repair and Green Tea) review @iamcherrylemon

Innisfree Hydrogel Mask (Perfect 9 Repair and Green Tea) review @iamcherrylemon

I’m reviewing 2 Innisfree Hydro Gel masks, these were purchased from TesterKorea online store.

I love using hydro gel masks, for me, they adhere to my face better, my skin always feel deeply hydrated and plump after use.
I was on holiday while I tested these masks. My skin felt irritated, tired and in desperate need of hydration!
Green Tea

Official description : Tea tree ingredients soothe skin irritations and protect the skin from environmental damage. The all-natural green complex, certified by ECOCERT, enhances your complexion.

Innisfree Hydrogel Mask (Green Tea) review @iamcherrylemon

Innisfree Hydrogel Mask (Green Tea) review @iamcherrylemon

I loved using the “It’s a real squeeze Green tea mask” (review here). So I had high expectations for this one!

This mask claims to deeply hydrates the skin and soothe daily damage from the elements.

The product : Like most of other branded hydro gel masks, this one also comes in 2 pieces. Separate ones for upper part and lower part of the face.

The mask pieces are embedded in layers of clear plastic backings. It was a real hassle to get them out of its packaging and separating the pieces. The mask pieces are unusually thin compare to normal hydro gel masks. It feels firmer to the touch and not as flexible.
Instructions: Apply upper part of the mask first before finishing applying the lower part. Leave on for 20 to 25 minutes. Pat on the remaining essence and finish off with your normal skin routine.
Results: I’ve left it on for around an hour as my skin needed the extra tlc! The mask pieces felt sticky-dry to the touch, it seems that my skin has absorbed it all in! It obviously needed it?

Anyhow, the skin felt normal afterwards and the dryness on my face came back the very next morning.
Score: 2 out of 5!

I won’t be repurchasing this one and most likely to go back to the “It’s a squeeze” version.

£2.50 + Postage from Innisfree Official, or stalk TesterKorea site for restock! You can get this alot cheaper there.

Innisfree Hydrogel Mask (Perfect 9 Repair) review @iamcherrylemon

This gel mask has the same feel to the green tea version. It doesn’t fully adhering to the face contour. I don’t normally have this problem with hydro gel masks.
Result: I’ve left this mask on for around 30 minutes. This time my skin feels softer and more hydrated. I’m pretty impressed (comparing to the green tea gel mask). I doubt my skin will benefit from the anti-aging properties of this mask with just one use. But it does a very good job on moisturising my skin.

Score: 3.5

Innisfree Hydrogel Mask (Perfect 9 Repair) review @iamcherrylemon

Innisfree Hydrogel Mask (Perfect 9 Repair) review @iamcherrylemon

Summary

I’m slightly disappointed with the green tea hydro gel mask, the perfect 9 is better but still not as impressive as expected. I would suggest you go for the “It’s a real squeeze” normal sheet mask range if you had to choose between the two mask types.

Thank you and I hope you enjoyed this post 🙂

Japonesque Pro Performance Lip Lacquer Shade no.7 photo swatches and review

image

JAPONESQUE® Pro Performance Lip Lacquer Shade No.7 @iamcherrylemon

Morning everyone! It’s the weekend! Hope you’re enjoying the sun and nice weather 🙂
Today I’m reviewing the Japonesque lip lacquer in shade no.7. It is a nice bright tomato red!

I bought this off a friend of mine who doesn’t wear red lippies. She knows I’m a red lips kinda gal 😉 so I’m more than happy to take this off her hands! This is first ever Japonesque product so I was curious if I would like it!

Official description: JAPONESQUE® Pro Performance Lip Lacquer. Color-drenched long lasting lip lacquer. Drapes lips with rich, saturated color for incredible volume. Uncompromising color intensity and a deep vinyl shine provide a full-bodied finish. Enriched formula hydrates and softens lips for incredible comfort and condition with no hint of stickiness. Unique tapered brush delivers the precise application of a true make-up professional.

My take on the product!

Pigmentation: This is a lip lacquer so you would expect it to be highly pigmented, leaves a lip stain and requires very little touch ups. Yes it does all that!

image

JAPONESQUE® Pro Performance Lip Lacquer Shade No.7 (Photo Swatch) @iamcherrylemon

Packaging: very nice clean and chic packaging. It has a clear tube but it doesn’t look cheap.

image

JAPONESQUE® Pro Performance Lip Lacquer Shade No.7 packaging @iamcherrylemon

Formula and application: This wears very well on the lips. The brush applicator is easy to use and I believe this is much better than a doe foot one! As it can give you a more precise and defined lip shape, but only if you take care when applying…of course.
The formula is nice and moisturising to the lips.

image

JAPONESQUE® Pro Performance Lip Lacquer Shade No.7 (applicator) @iamcherrylemon

Formula: A little carefulness goes a long way. So take your time when using any lip lacquer 😉

Pros:
Ultra shine
Long lasting (up to 3 to 4 hours)
Smells lovely
Moisturising
Highly pigmented
Good range of shades available

Cons:
Sticky! Very sticky!

Summary: 3.5 out of 5! A good product for use

Where to buy: 0.18oz for £10.50 plus free shipping from Lookfantastic, HQ hair / $10.00USD from Ulta.Com

Thank you for dropping by and have an awesome day 😀

Review: Canmake Marshmallow Finish Powder SPF26 PA+++ (MB Matte Beige) #J-Beauty

image

Canmake Marshmallow finish powder MB SPF26 PA (UV protection sunscreen powder) @iamcherrylemon

Hi there! Today, I’ll be sharing my review on a Japanese beauty product that I’ve been testing out for the past few months.

I won’t lie to you, oh no I won’t 😛 I was attracted to its packaging. Who doesn’t like cute and princessy makeup? It looks so adorable 😛 I love getting this out from my handbag other than my Dior compact!

What is it?
This is a powder compact that most users would use it as powder foundation or blotting powder. It comes with a powder puff and a sizeable mirror inside.

image

Canmake Marshmallow finish powder MB SPF26 PA (UV protection sunscreen powder) @iamcherrylemon

It has light to medium finish when applied using a brush. You can achieve a decent medium coverage with this powder alone when using the accompanying powder puff.

The powder is finely milled and I have not had a cakey finish with this. It goes on smoothly and it can even out skintone very nicely.

It contains 72% Natural mineral ingredients and plant extracts (aloe vera leaf, chamomile, lemon and rosemary extracts for moisturising).

Three colour option available (official description from website):
[MO] Matte Ochre
A matte light ochre that will make your skin look brighter in an instant
[MB] Matte Beige Ochre
An ochre shade that quickly and easily blends into your skin
[ML] Matte Light Ochre
A bright ochre, for a highly translucent look

image

Canmake Marshmallow finish powder MB SPF26 PA (UV protection sunscreen powder) @iamcherrylemon

This powder compact is also available in loose powder format.

How effective?
My powder compact is in MB matte beige. It seems to be a good match for my skintone.
I only use this for blotting purposes only and top up during the day. It helps me to keep shine at bay.
When my liquid foundation wears off, I’m happy to use this as a top up. It gives me a decent coverage that last me a good few hours on my oily skin. It does cling onto dry patches, so I would only recommend this to oily and normal skin types.
I haven’t used this as powder foundation alone.

Pros :
Evens skintone
Very fine and soft texture (just like its name “Marshmallow”)
Provides light to medium-light coverage
Great for blotting and keep shine away
Affordable
Upto 72% Natural mineral ingredients (kinder to skin)
The compact is plastic so it adds no weight in your handbag!

Cons :
It can cling onto dry patches, do not apply too much!
The compact is plastic and doesn’t feel expensive 😛

Price: approx £12 from eBay UK (Shipped from Japan)
$12 from Amazon US

Review: Burberry Eye Colour Contour in Dusky Mauve No. 116 and Rosewood No. 112 (Photo Swatches)

image

Morning Everyone! It is nice and lovely in the UK and not too cold! Although, a little bit of snow will be nice 😉 Today, I have a quick review post for you.
Few days ago, the UPS man has delivered these babies to my doorstep. I’ve been trying and testing them on myself, and to find out how they perform? Read on! 🙂

Burberry has launched a collection of 7 shades for these Eye Colour Contour range. I have absolutely no idea why these are called eye colour contour? It would be more fitting to be called eyeshadow sticks? It could be too common and not fancy enough 😛

Performance:
These Eye contour pens lasted a good 6 hours without primer with minor fading, which I’m very impressed with. They do set well but not as quickly as Kiko shadow sticks. It is smudgeproof!
These two chosen colours can be blended well together. To remove, please use proper eye makeup remover! I’ve used a Nivea makeup wipe the first time round, I had to kinda rub it off with slight force 😦
I switched to use my trusty Chanel Gentle Biphase eye makeup remover and I have no problem ever since.

image

Pigmentation:
It gives a light wash of colour with 1 swipe. It could be too light a wash for some makeup users.

image

Swatches are done with at least 3 swipes!

Summary:
Happy with these, I now wished I didn’t buy the Eye Colour Cream (reviewed here). Those are great colours but I love the format of these shadow sticks! I find them alot easier to use and to carry around with you.

image

Price: £23 for 1.5g, Burberry online
Made in Italy

While we are on the topic of eye makeup… Have you heard about this eyeshadow palette by Too Faced? It is called the “Peanut Butter and Jelly palette”. It looks and sounds so interesting, as with recent palettes from Too Faced. This palette is made to smell yummy! I cannot wait for its launch at the end of Feb! Woohoo!

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!

September favourites 2015 @iamcherrylemon

September favourites 2015 @iamcherrylemon

Hi there! I believe this is my first ever monthly favourite blog post! I don’t normally switch around too much with my products, but with so many bits and bobs sitting on my vanity I feel like I must make an effort!
These are the most used products in the month of September for me 🙂

Etude House Drawing Eye Brow definer
I’ve reviewed this brow definer before, but I recently found it again behind my chest of drawer! So it is back in my life with a bang, I’ve been using this throughout the whole month of September. Previous review post here.
Under $6 from Amazon

Urban Decay Revolution lipstick in Catfight
Cat fight is a pink fuchsia with red tone, it is a cream sheen finish. Not the usual colour I normally go for but it somehow attracts alot of compliments 😉
It’s bright and is eye catching! I feel great whenever I’m wearing it. It could be my new “Red” during this summer turn Autumn season!
£15.50 from Urban Decay (and any major department store)

September favourites 2015 (swatches) L to R: Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick, Bourjois Pinceau Eyeliner and Etude House Drawing brow definer @iamcherrylemon

Bourjois Liner Pinceau Eyeliner
This is one of my favourite liquid eyeliner ever! I shall write up a more in depth review on this.
This liner is a super fine brush which gives so much control. You can create a superfine cat liner or a 70s retro wing liner with ease.
Under £7 from Amazon (any major drugstore that stocks Bourjois! I.e. Boots)

CND Solar Oil nail & cuticle conditioner
My nails are going through a fragile state at the moment. Hence the lack of NOTD posts for a month! I’m currently nursing them back to normal health using this Solar Oil conditioner. It smells sweetly of almonds!
So far it is working well, the cuticles are looking better. This is not a nail growth promoter, so my nails are taking their time to grow! Fingers crossed, I’ll be back with better looking nails for future manicure posts.
£6.95 from Amazon UK

Clinique Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips
I received the deluxe sample of this from British Beauty Blogger collaboration box with Clinque. See review of this product here.
I’ve been using this non-stop this month and had to stop to save enough for my review post! It does the job and it does it well! Big thumbs up!

£17 for 125ml from Clinque or any major department store

Funny one this is! I don’t have dandruff but my scalp does get sensitive to certain shampoo, this means I will see dandruff looking bits once in a blue moon.
Body Shop Ginger Shampoo smells like ginger, yes it does. I definitely not seen any unattractive flakes since I’ve started using it 3 or 4 months ago. It is also gentle enough not to irritate my scalp. So I’m going to stick with this one for awhile!

£4.50 for 200ml from the Body Shop

Music/Singles: Katie Melua – Wonderful Life
I liked listening to calming music, and Melua is certainly one of the artists that I keep going back to 🙂
Katie Melua’s re-recording of Wonderful Life is currently available for download and on sale, with profit going to children’s charities. What a thoughtful and great way to raise awareness to these children’s charities. MTV on YouTube

Review: Clinique Liquid Facial Soap and Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap and Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips @iamcherrylemon

Clinique Liquid Facial Soap and Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips @iamcherrylemon

Good day!
This post has been long overdue! I’ve been using these two products and had the urge to review them as soon as I’ve almost finished them!
Clinique is not a brand I’ve been using frequently. I used to be a big fan when I was a teenager! As the products are slightly more affordable compared to other high end brands! I loved their Quickliner for Eyes in Smoky Brown! Anything from lipsticks, facial soap blocks, anti blemish products to “Super balanced” foundation! Forgot how I fell out of love with Clinique.
Anyhow, here’s my thoughts on the liquid facial soap and eye makeup remover!

Liquid Facial Soap Mild formula for dry combination skin
This version has been designed for people with combination skin. It is 100% fragrance free and non drying. It feels very gentle on the skin and it does not strip natural oil from the skin itself. But it still manages to cleanse well and not leaving the skin feels tight.
This is step one Clinque’s famous 3 steps skincare system. “Cleanse. Exfoliate. Moisturise.”
I used it after my cleansing balm so it doesn’t have to tackle my long wearing foundation! It is used purely as a second cleanse 🙂 It removes every last trace of makeup from my face.

This standard bottle of liquid soap comes in a dispenser bottle. You can also find the facial soap bar if you prefer soap blocks to liquid soap. I do reckon the soap blocks last longer compared to liquid soap!

£16.50 for 200ml
Summary: A good gentle facial cleanser that’s suitable for sensitive skin users. Non drying and fragrance free.

Take The Day Off Makeup Remover For Lids, Lashes & Lips
This is a biphase eye makeup remover. It doesn’t feel greasy on the lids at all. This eye makeup remover is very gentle on the eyes, it is also suitable for contact lense wearers.
It removes my waterproof mascara very well and rest of the eye makeup. I really enjoyed using this product.
It is slightly cheaper (£5!) to use comparing to my holy grail product “Chanel Gentle Bi- phase Eye Make-Up Remover”.

£17 for 125ml
Summary: Gentle yet effective eye makeup remover, great for sensitive eyes

REVIEW: Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble clay mask #KBeauty

Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask @iamcherrylemon

Hello everyone! Hope you’re well and enjoying the warmer and brighter week days!

Today’s review post is on one of the most fun and iconic product by Elizavecca. Elizavecca is a Korean skincare brand and it has a wide range of skincare products. Most are effective and kind to the skin. I do like this range alot 🙂
This is a well known and trusted brand, products are hot sellers on many KBeauty sites which is a very good sign!

Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask @iamcherrylemon

Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask @iamcherrylemon

This has also caused a huge problem as there are many imitations of their products. These imitations are so alike that you would require an expert to tell them apart.

Fortunately, Elizavecca has made it easier to identify genuine products. Each product would have a verification code that you can use to check it’s  authenticity on Elizavecca’s official website.
But to check you would have to buy the suspicious item first! So I should suggest that you only buy these from trusted KBeauty online merchants. Save you a lot of hassle 😦

Use Elizavecca QR code checker (link here)

The packaging
At a glance, it is the standard trademarked Piggy on the packaging. Appeals to the general public in Korea, it does look cute and instantly recognisable.
Standard plastic tub with screw top lid, air tight cover to keep the clay mask fresh and away from moisture. There is a small plastic spatula inside the packaging.

Very important note: keep the inner air tight lid closed when not in used, any additional moisture and exposure to oxygen will activate the bubbling effects of the clay mask. Once activated, the clay mask will be ruined and won’t work next time!

Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask @iamcherrylemon

Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask @iamcherrylemon

The product
Elizavecca Milky Piggy Carbonated Bubble Clay Mask is a bubbling clay mask that promises to clean your pores and help with removing black heads.
This mask is an unique blend of carbonated water, it contains Green tea, Pomegranate extract as well as Charcoal powder. The Charcoal powder with bubbles  can deeply penetrate the pores to remove dirt, sebum and impurities.

It is said to be suitable for all skin types. It is also recommended for makeup removal but I am a bit OTT and would prefer to use proper makeup remover. I have not tested this clay mask for makeup removal!

Fragrance/ Texture
The clay mask is of a funny texture, very jelly-like and goopy. The dark grey clay mask smells clean and not muddy at all.
Once applied onto the skin, the colour turns slightly lighter and it starts to bubble up within minutes. Be cautious, it is best not to use too much product especially around the eye area.

Effectiveness
Following the proper usage of the mask, the skin feels clean and bright without the tightness. So I know it hasn’t strip the natural oils away. The skin is soft to the touch. I’m loving this!

How to use?
1. Apply the clay mask directly onto dry, uncleaned face using the spatula provided.
2. Wait for 5 mins for the bubbles to start activate.
3. Leave on for another 5 to 10 minutes and massage the mask with wet/damp hands for extra cleansing.
4. Rinse off with warm water and apply toner afterwards.

Overall Summary: 4 out of 5. A really good and fun mask to use, leaves the skin feeling soft and very clean. Fabulous for oily combination skin.

Thank you for reading and have a wonderful week ahead.
