Instagram nail art challenge – When colours collide! “BLUE”

# PR Sample #

Hello there! I’m back from a week’s vacation, it was really fun and also exhausting. I managed to wear a single polish for over 11 days, which I have not done so before! So weird to wear the same shade for so long.
Anyhow, today I’m sharing a manicure I created for the “When colour collide” nail art challenge. WCC is a FB based challenge, there’s a new theme every 2 weeks. It could be colour restricted, technique specific or themed and colour restricted. As the variation of themes is pretty great, it is always fresh and challenging for anyone to participate.
Last week’s prompt was for a blue-only mani in any technique. I’ve chosen too use gradient stamping over a gorgeous blue shimmer base.

Products used:

  • Born pretty BP-L085
  • Bliss polish in “Hangin’ with the fishes”
  • Painted Polish in Deux 2 and stamped in Seafoam
  • Glisten and Glow HKG top coat

The base colour was so pretty on its own, it was very hard to actually stamp over it. I shall revisit this polish in the near future.
Overall, I quite like how this mani turned out. Use the hash tag #whencolourscollide on Instagram to view all other gorgeous designs.

Mini review on Born Pretty BP-L085 Rose Lotus Gorgeous Flower Stamping Plate (#40221)
This plate has 14 gorgeous full sized stamping images and 6 kaleidoscope style flower designs. I have another mani design coming up using this plate 🙂
All the stamping images are suitable for short to medium long nails. For longer nails you might need to stretch the image or repeat stamping to achieve the complete design on the longer nail lengths.

I had no issues with the image pickup, this is kind of what I would expect from BPS plates.
This new plate is currently priced at BPS $2.99 USD with free worldwide shipping.

Thank you for visiting and happy Monday to you!

Total Solar Eclipse manicure (21st August 2017) Maggie Anne Beauty nail polish in Pearl @iamcherrylemon

Total solar eclipse August 21st, 2017 (celebratory celestial manicure)

Hi there, did you wonder why there is a post about total eclipse coming from a nail blog? I know I would, if i saw it popping up in my feed 😉

Today is the day, when the total solar eclipse will be visible across the northern America. This event last happened in the states back in 1918! The most impressive and memorable total solar eclipse for me was back in my primary (junior) school days. I remember the entire group of students were just staring at the eclipsed sun directly without any protective eyewear (please do not repeat!). But it was surely spectacular.

So I planned this mani for the #TwinsieTuesdayNailArt on Instagram. This is the weekly challenge that I participate and really enjoy. This week’s prompt is “Celestial” nd you still have time to submit if you are interested. Just complete a mani according to the theme Celestial, tag @99probsbutmynailsaint1 and use the hashtag 🙂 So easy and simple.

This mani took less than half an hour on both hands! It was pretty straight forward and it does not require many polishes/tools.

Products used:

  • Maggie Anne Beauty nail polish in Pearl
  • Opi Alpine Snow
  • Glisten & Glow HK girl fast drying top coat
  • A makeup sponge and some curved vinyl/tapes

I first painted my nails using the black polish, applied a layer of fast drying top coat. Once ready, I applied the curved tape/vinyl onto 2 accent nails.
Add small amount of white and black polishes on the sponge and dabbing gently along the curve! I added the diamond ring effect too 😉

Thank you for visiting and good luck if you are preparing to witness the total solar eclipse today.

Purple gradient nails with double stamping

#PRSample

Hello

This manicure is created for a “Get Well” nail art collaboration for our ig friend Tammy. Tammy has gone under several surgeries, and is currently home recovering.

We wish Tammy a speedy recovery, you can find all the individual manis in this Collab by check out the hash tag #RecoveryWishesForTammy on Instagram.

The collab prompt was to create a manicure in the colour purple. So I picked the 3 polishes (see product list) and created a gradient mani, then double stamped using holo silver and black.

This BP-L078 plate has It has 14 cute images with each measuring 14mm by 25mm, suitable for most nail lengths. These images can also be easily adaptable for shorter nails too. As always, I had no problem picking up the images from this plate. I was using a sticky galaxy stamper (reviewed here as item #2). I can see more manicures will be created using this plate 😍

This is the first time I have used the Ejiubas clear stamper to create mani. A more in-depth review will be posted in the future. As I am putting it to the serial stamper test!! (so far, I am loving the results and the gorgeous little crystals!)

Products used:

  • Barry M Gelly nail paints in Coconut and Plum
  • Illamasqua nail varnish in Jo’mina
  • Emily de Molly Holo silver
  • Painted polish Midnight mischief
  • Born pretty stamping plate BP-L078
  • Ejiubas clear stamper

I would prefer the gradient to look smoother but the polishes didn’t play well with me that night, it was pretty hot!
Thank you for visiting x

Note: This plate was sent to me for honest review and opinion.

#ForKnittyNails IG nail art collaboration and  belated birthday nails (Cute cat sparkly nails)

On IG, the nail art community feels like a close knit circle or made up of many circles… You can get along really well with like minded people. You chit chat day in day out, some kind of relationship or friendship develops.
Debbie, aka KnittyNails is one of those sweet and kind people you will come across and would like instantly. I find Debbie to be very supportive and n encouraging. She was one of the first IG accounts that I’ve follow.

It has been a tough few months for her and we wanted to show her that we care. So a group of us have come together to show some support for Debbie, by cooperating in a nail art collaboration.

This is my creation, a blue based floral layered stamping. It is because Debbie is the Queen of layered stamping. She makes it looks so easy, but it really isn’t!

Products used:

  • Mavala nail lacquer in Cobalt Blue
  • Painted polish Stamped in Mint, Stamped in Guava and Stamped in Taro
  • Uber Chic beauty stamping plate 17-03
  • Glisten and Glow HK girl fast drying top coat

I think this manicure could look a bit better, but I’m so glad Debbie told me that she loves it alot. I really need to take a lesson or 2 on layered stamping!

I have also included her birthday collab manicure which I’ve done back in March. I somehow, not posted it here.

It is a cute kitten manicure with lilac and glitter polishes.

Products used:

  • Grey cat water decals from She sells sea shells
  • ILNP Rosewater
  • China glaze Pearl Jammin
  • CreativeShop stamping plate 04
  • Colour Alike stamping polish in Berry Smoothie

Two very different manis that are inspired by the same cat loving, kind and supportive lady.

Hope you like these, thank you for reading

maniswap with Instagram nail artist @nellemiemani (Pastel neon gradient nails with geometric designs) @iamcherrylemon

Hello there! Hope it is a nice and sunny day where you’re at! It is hitting high 20s in the UK today. The Sun is actually burning my skin right now.

Today’s post is on my mani swap with the lovely Gaia (IG @nellemiemani). Gaia has the most delicate and cut nail shapes! Her nail art designs are fabulous and a good variation of techniques.

To be honest, I panicked a bit when it was my turn to choose one of her designs for the mani swap.  I suddenly realised most of Gaia’s designs are extremely suited to her small but cute nails.

Anyhow, I’ve picked to recreate one of her recent nail designs. It has a bright pastel background with gorgeous stamping. Gaia has chosen to recreate my pastel gradient mother’s day mani! I love her version alot and I love the fact the two manicures are so similar but different.

IG @nellemiemani check out Gaia’s profile on Instagram 🙂 it’s pretty awesome!
Products used to create my recreation:

  • Pueen – Visual wonderland Stamping plate
  • Painted polish in Midnight mischief
  • Pretty Serious neon pastels in Fluffykins,  Bunny foofoo, Peachie poo, Doodle bug, Cutie Patootie and also a bright yellow called “Honey puff”
  • Wikkid polish in Star Dust
  • Glisten and Glow HK girl fast drying top coat
  • Makeup sponge
  • Rainbow connection liquid latex cuticle protector

What do you think? 🙂

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Lilac, Pink and Gold (gradient mani with gold nail studs) @iamcherrylemon

#26GNAI 26 Great Nail Art Ideas – Lilac, Pink and Gold

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Lilac, Pink and Gold

26 Great Nail Art Ideas – Lilac, Pink and Gold

Good morning and hope you are well! Today I am sharing another #26GNAI mani with you. This is for the prompt “Lilac, Pink and Gold”, and isn’t this colour combination lovely?

I have temporarily put my stamper to rest and did some gradient work complete with embellishment instead. But looking at the results, I will need to up my game on non-stamping nail art or just give it all up! I guess I am so used to having stamped manicures, and I rarely wear plain colours on their own…. Unless it is “plain” holographic polishes!

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Lilac, Pink and Gold (gradient mani with gold nail studs) @iamcherrylemon

26 Great Nail Art Ideas – Lilac, Pink and Gold (gradient mani with gold nail studs) @iamcherrylemon

Products used:

  • Barry M Gelly nail paint in Prickly Pear
  • Trust Fund Beauty – Do you know who my father is?
  • The Body Shop – Gold party glitter polish (PR sample)
  • Danglefoot polish – Don’t dangle about (fast drying) top coat
  • Random nail decorations from Ali Express
  • Makeup sponge
  • Princess Nail Lacquer – Magic Flower base coat

Mini polish reviews:

The pale pink (Trust Fund Beauty) polish is one of the polishes received in last month’s Meebox. The formula is on a thicker side so it gradients easily and perfectly on the nail. The colour took me awhile to get used to, but now I really like this pale pink!

Barry M Prickly Pear has been a nail bloggers’ favourite for a long while and I believe you can see why. It is such an easy shade to wear, and it’s so so shiny.

The Body Shop glitter polish was sent to me as a PR review product. It contains gold and black glitter pieces in various sizes. The base is clear so you can wear this over any base colours. I did not sponge it on my nails, as I wanted a gentle glitter look (is there such a thing?) and not a full on version. The brush is thin but it can pick up a decent amount of glitter.

Thank you for reading and have a gorgeous day.

#NailWithIGFriends Nail Art Collaboration “Marine” (ILNP Ultra holo Bermuda and Rose Water, CreativeShop stamping plate 28) @iamcherrylemon

Hello! It looks as if most of my backed up manicure posts are all challenges and collaborations…. Yes I overbooked myself in March and was participating in too many collaborations. Please don’t get me wrong, I loved every single one of them as each one of very different and fun.
Last round of #NailsWithIGfriends was hosted by IG@Nailpaintreview. The theme was Marine, so I’ve chosen to use gradient and some stamping.
Products used:

  • CreativeShop stamping plate 28
  • ILNP ultra holo polish in Bermuda and Rosewater
  • Moyra white stamping polish
  • Danglefoot Don’t dangle about top coat
  • Shell nail art stud from Born Pretty nail art store (#21578 $3.99)

#NailWithIGFriends Nail Art Collaboration “Marine” (ILNP Ultra holo Bermuda and Rose Water, CreativeShop stamping plate 28) @iamcherrylemon

I called this my Shelly-mad mani! I wanted to achieve the look of these shells stacked on a sandy beach as it appears on the lighter gradient.

With the extra stamping and nail stud to finish the look off. I was very surprised about the nail stud actually laid flat and stayed on my nail for days!

Macro: #NailWithIGFriends Nail Art Collaboration "Marine" (ILNP Ultra holo Bermuda and Rose Water, CreativeShop stamping plate 28) @iamcherrylemon

Ilnp Ultra holo “Bermuda” is exactly that, ultra sparkly, ultra holographic and ultra gorgeous. It applies well, I’ve used 2 coats in photos and kept this mani on for 3 days without experiencing any chipping. It might have gone on for longer but I needed to change my mani obviously!

Cool, I hope you like this one. ILNP polishes have never been disappointing for me, loving every single one at the moment 🙂

Thank you for reading xx

Peach and Pink Gradient nails stamped with Uber chic 12-03 @iamcherrylemon

#twinsietuesdaynailart 18th April 2017 theme: Peach

Morning! Hope you are well.

Instagram nail art challenge #twinsietuesdaynailart Peach @iamcherrylemon

Instagram nail art challenge #twinsietuesdaynailart Peach @iamcherrylemon

This is another Instagram nail prompt! I quite like this one, it’s very adhoc, spontaneous… Basically, the host announces the prompt on Monday morning and you can decide to join in and post your themed mani with the hash tag #twinsietuesdaynailart and link the host (Melanie @99probsbutmynailsaint1). But it needs to be on Instagram before Tuesday midnight PST! Yes, it’s that simple! The entries will be collected by the host and the nail collage get created on Tuesday night.

IMG_20170419_161149_769I love the fact you can drop in and out pretty freely. But I’m aiming to join in as much as I can cope as the themes are very interesting week by week.

Products used:

  • Pretty Serious Pastel Pet names “Fluffykins” and “Peachie Poo”
  • Moyra white stamping polish
  • Colour Alike stamping polish in Golden Queen
  • Uber Chic beauty collection plate 12-02

I love the outcome of this mani, the pastel neons are going very well together. Shame that the stamping isn’t perfect, I really need to get my eyes tested and stop rushing!

Have a lovely day x

Instagram Nail Collaboration to celebrate Nailseeys Birthday: Mermaid Manicure

PicsArt_04-03-09.20.44

Hello there! April is/was a busy month for birthday nail art collaborations! It is so lovely to be included in collabs to celebrate birthdays with IG friends. The nail art community on Instagram is crazy friendly, and I love interacting with like-minded friends. Yes, talking about nails all day every day!

Emilia’s sister got in touch with a bunch of us to complete a collab for her sister, it is such a lovely thing to do! Emilia (Nailseeys) is a super sweet girl with great talents and her designs are really great! Be sure to check her IG profile when you can, IG @nailseeys . Emilia’s sister has given us some prompts and suggestions, and out of the ones suggested, I like the idea of mermaid nails. I have not done a proper mermaid manicure before so it would be something new to me.

I have selected some pretty pastels for this mermaid set.

Products used:

  • Barry M Gelly nail paints in Prickly Pear, Fondant and Coconut
  • Barry M Foil Effects nail paint in Silver
  • EdK Ultra holo in Medusa
  • DRK Magic Garden stamping plate
  • Danglefoot nail polish in Cosmic Girl 2.0 and Don’t dangle about top coat
  • Random rhinestones obtained from destashes!

I like the way this set has turned out, it’s simple and pretty.

My thoughts on some of the polishes used!

Danglefoot’s Cosmic Girl 2.0 is a reinvented version of the Cosmic Girl, but this version contains a ton of silver flakes. I was very surprised that the polish laid on smoothly despite the fact I piled on for opacity! IT only required 1 layer of top coat.

Barry M Gellys are the legends! They are affordable, great on their own or used in nail art. Some of the Gelly nail paints also stamp but I have not tried any of mine yet! Gellys are supposed to be super shiny like gel polishes. They are easily accessible in the UK too. I do have quite a few Barry Ms J If you have been onmy blog/Instagram for some time, you would know I absolutely love stamping with Barry M’s foil effects polishes. They are very easy to use but unfortunately this line of foil polishes have been discontinued.

Ps. I have over 10 nail art posts to catch up on! Totally snowed under this time :p

Thank you for reading and I hope you like this manicure.
