maniswap with Instagram nail artist @nellemiemani (Pastel neon gradient nails with geometric designs) @iamcherrylemon

Hello there! Hope it is a nice and sunny day where you’re at! It is hitting high 20s in the UK today. The Sun is actually burning my skin right now.

Today’s post is on my mani swap with the lovely Gaia (IG @nellemiemani). Gaia has the most delicate and cut nail shapes! Her nail art designs are fabulous and a good variation of techniques.

To be honest, I panicked a bit when it was my turn to choose one of her designs for the mani swap.  I suddenly realised most of Gaia’s designs are extremely suited to her small but cute nails.

Anyhow, I’ve picked to recreate one of her recent nail designs. It has a bright pastel background with gorgeous stamping. Gaia has chosen to recreate my pastel gradient mother’s day mani! I love her version alot and I love the fact the two manicures are so similar but different.

IG @nellemiemani check out Gaia’s profile on Instagram 🙂 it’s pretty awesome!
Products used to create my recreation:

  • Pueen – Visual wonderland Stamping plate
  • Painted polish in Midnight mischief
  • Pretty Serious neon pastels in Fluffykins,  Bunny foofoo, Peachie poo, Doodle bug, Cutie Patootie and also a bright yellow called “Honey puff”
  • Wikkid polish in Star Dust
  • Glisten and Glow HK girl fast drying top coat
  • Makeup sponge
  • Rainbow connection liquid latex cuticle protector

What do you think? 🙂

Thank you for reading and have a lovely day.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas – Lilac, Pink and Gold

Good morning and hope you are well! Today I am sharing another #26GNAI mani with you. This is for the prompt “Lilac, Pink and Gold”, and isn’t this colour combination lovely?

I have temporarily put my stamper to rest and did some gradient work complete with embellishment instead. But looking at the results, I will need to up my game on non-stamping nail art or just give it all up! I guess I am so used to having stamped manicures, and I rarely wear plain colours on their own…. Unless it is “plain” holographic polishes!

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Lilac, Pink and Gold (gradient mani with gold nail studs) @iamcherrylemon

26 Great Nail Art Ideas – Lilac, Pink and Gold (gradient mani with gold nail studs) @iamcherrylemon

Products used:

  • Barry M Gelly nail paint in Prickly Pear
  • Trust Fund Beauty – Do you know who my father is?
  • The Body Shop – Gold party glitter polish (PR sample)
  • Danglefoot polish – Don’t dangle about (fast drying) top coat
  • Random nail decorations from Ali Express
  • Makeup sponge
  • Princess Nail Lacquer – Magic Flower base coat

Mini polish reviews:

The pale pink (Trust Fund Beauty) polish is one of the polishes received in last month’s Meebox. The formula is on a thicker side so it gradients easily and perfectly on the nail. The colour took me awhile to get used to, but now I really like this pale pink!

Barry M Prickly Pear has been a nail bloggers’ favourite for a long while and I believe you can see why. It is such an easy shade to wear, and it’s so so shiny.

The Body Shop glitter polish was sent to me as a PR review product. It contains gold and black glitter pieces in various sizes. The base is clear so you can wear this over any base colours. I did not sponge it on my nails, as I wanted a gentle glitter look (is there such a thing?) and not a full on version. The brush is thin but it can pick up a decent amount of glitter.

Thank you for reading and have a gorgeous day.

#NailWithIGFriends Nail Art Collaboration “Marine” (ILNP Ultra holo Bermuda and Rose Water, CreativeShop stamping plate 28) @iamcherrylemon

Hello! It looks as if most of my backed up manicure posts are all challenges and collaborations…. Yes I overbooked myself in March and was participating in too many collaborations. Please don’t get me wrong, I loved every single one of them as each one of very different and fun.
Last round of #NailsWithIGfriends was hosted by IG@Nailpaintreview. The theme was Marine, so I’ve chosen to use gradient and some stamping.
Products used:

  • CreativeShop stamping plate 28
  • ILNP ultra holo polish in Bermuda and Rosewater
  • Moyra white stamping polish
  • Danglefoot Don’t dangle about top coat
  • Shell nail art stud from Born Pretty nail art store (#21578 $3.99)

#NailWithIGFriends Nail Art Collaboration “Marine” (ILNP Ultra holo Bermuda and Rose Water, CreativeShop stamping plate 28) @iamcherrylemon

I called this my Shelly-mad mani! I wanted to achieve the look of these shells stacked on a sandy beach as it appears on the lighter gradient.

With the extra stamping and nail stud to finish the look off. I was very surprised about the nail stud actually laid flat and stayed on my nail for days!

Ilnp Ultra holo “Bermuda” is exactly that, ultra sparkly, ultra holographic and ultra gorgeous. It applies well, I’ve used 2 coats in photos and kept this mani on for 3 days without experiencing any chipping. It might have gone on for longer but I needed to change my mani obviously!

Cool, I hope you like this one. ILNP polishes have never been disappointing for me, loving every single one at the moment 🙂

Thank you for reading xx

Peach and Pink Gradient nails stamped with Uber chic 12-03 @iamcherrylemon

#twinsietuesdaynailart 18th April 2017 theme: Peach

Morning! Hope you are well.

Instagram nail art challenge #twinsietuesdaynailart Peach @iamcherrylemon

Instagram nail art challenge #twinsietuesdaynailart Peach @iamcherrylemon

This is another Instagram nail prompt! I quite like this one, it’s very adhoc, spontaneous… Basically, the host announces the prompt on Monday morning and you can decide to join in and post your themed mani with the hash tag #twinsietuesdaynailart and link the host (Melanie @99probsbutmynailsaint1). But it needs to be on Instagram before Tuesday midnight PST! Yes, it’s that simple! The entries will be collected by the host and the nail collage get created on Tuesday night.

IMG_20170419_161149_769I love the fact you can drop in and out pretty freely. But I’m aiming to join in as much as I can cope as the themes are very interesting week by week.

Products used:

  • Pretty Serious Pastel Pet names “Fluffykins” and “Peachie Poo”
  • Moyra white stamping polish
  • Colour Alike stamping polish in Golden Queen
  • Uber Chic beauty collection plate 12-02

I love the outcome of this mani, the pastel neons are going very well together. Shame that the stamping isn’t perfect, I really need to get my eyes tested and stop rushing!

Have a lovely day x

Instagram Nail Collaboration to celebrate Nailseeys Birthday: Mermaid Manicure

PicsArt_04-03-09.20.44

Hello there! April is/was a busy month for birthday nail art collaborations! It is so lovely to be included in collabs to celebrate birthdays with IG friends. The nail art community on Instagram is crazy friendly, and I love interacting with like-minded friends. Yes, talking about nails all day every day!

Emilia’s sister got in touch with a bunch of us to complete a collab for her sister, it is such a lovely thing to do! Emilia (Nailseeys) is a super sweet girl with great talents and her designs are really great! Be sure to check her IG profile when you can, IG @nailseeys . Emilia’s sister has given us some prompts and suggestions, and out of the ones suggested, I like the idea of mermaid nails. I have not done a proper mermaid manicure before so it would be something new to me.

I have selected some pretty pastels for this mermaid set.

Products used:

  • Barry M Gelly nail paints in Prickly Pear, Fondant and Coconut
  • Barry M Foil Effects nail paint in Silver
  • EdK Ultra holo in Medusa
  • DRK Magic Garden stamping plate
  • Danglefoot nail polish in Cosmic Girl 2.0 and Don’t dangle about top coat
  • Random rhinestones obtained from destashes!

I like the way this set has turned out, it’s simple and pretty.

My thoughts on some of the polishes used!

Danglefoot’s Cosmic Girl 2.0 is a reinvented version of the Cosmic Girl, but this version contains a ton of silver flakes. I was very surprised that the polish laid on smoothly despite the fact I piled on for opacity! IT only required 1 layer of top coat.

Barry M Gellys are the legends! They are affordable, great on their own or used in nail art. Some of the Gelly nail paints also stamp but I have not tried any of mine yet! Gellys are supposed to be super shiny like gel polishes. They are easily accessible in the UK too. I do have quite a few Barry Ms J If you have been onmy blog/Instagram for some time, you would know I absolutely love stamping with Barry M’s foil effects polishes. They are very easy to use but unfortunately this line of foil polishes have been discontinued.

Ps. I have over 10 nail art posts to catch up on! Totally snowed under this time :p

Thank you for reading and I hope you like this manicure.

#ClaireStelle8March Theme: Holi (Festival of Colours) Stamped Mani using Lina Nail Art supplies Make Your Mark 3 @iamcherrylemon

Instagram nail art challenge #clairestelle8march

Hello!!! How are you?? It’s Spring and it has been warm in the UK 🙂 enjoying the sunshine and dusting off the cobwebs!!

Today I will be sharing quite a few manicures that I’ve used to entered the nail art challenge. I love Claire’s monthly nail art challenges, the prompts are fun and relevant. For March, she had incorporated mother’s day, Holi festival and other Spring related topics.

(I normally split the 8 manis from this challenge into 2 posts. I’ll see how this goes in terms of formatting. Please tell me if this post is way too long and if you prefer less manis within a post etc. TA!!)

First prompt is “Beige”

For this mani, I’ve used 2 Picture polish “Blush” and “Nude” to create a gradient base. Stamped it with Moyra white stamping polish. The floral swirls pattern is from Uber Chic beauty stamping plate collection 6-03. This design is very simple but pretty, I was surprised that the pattern stands out so well against the background.

“Butterflies”

I got a bit lazy and only did tiny bit of stamping! But I did use one of my treasured Tonic polish called “Windy City”. It is one of the Tonic store exclusive polishes at Color 4 Nails.

#ClaireStelle8March Theme: Butterflies @iamcherrylemon

#ClaireStelle8March Theme: Butterflies @iamcherrylemon

It looks fab with silver stamping polish by Barry M cosmetics. The plate used is Color Club “Butterfly”. Color Club plates are beautiful but etched very shallowly. It might be a little bit challenging for beginners. But with practise, I’m sure everyone can get good results!

#ClaireStelle8March Theme: Butterflies (non-entry) @iamcherrylemon

“Holi” the festival of colours

To be very honest I didn’t actually know what Holi was until I googled it! It really is a festival celebrating colours, what a joyful event!

#ClaireStelle8March Theme: Holi (Festival of Colours) Stamped Mani using Lina Nail Art supplies Make Your Mark 3 @iamcherrylemon

For this mani, I chose to use a platinum holo polish as base. It is called “Snow White (H)” by Wikkid polish. Quite a stunning polish I must admit! The heart patterns are from Lina nail art supplies stamping plate Make your mark #3. I’ve coloured the hearts in a rainbow of colours.

 “Swirls”

Hmmm this was a very frustrating mani to do. As I used a new technique that I have not tried before.. “Foil stamping”. It involves creating decals on a mat with stamping polish then transfer foil onto it. My success rate for that was around 1 in 15!! It was very frustrating as I thought I did everything right following online tutorials. Anyhow, I got the decals that I need in the end and they did look lovely.

#ClaireStelle8March Theme: Swirls (Nail Foil Stamping) @iamcherrylemon

Products used:

  • Cirque Colors nail lacquer in Hatch
  • Random nail art foil from eBay
  • Born Pretty stamping polish in Black
  • Uber chic beauty stamping plate collection 4-02
  • Clear Jelly Stamper big bling stamper
  • Picture polish foil top coat “Revolution”
  • Glisten and Glow HK girl fast drying top coat

It would be a very long time until the next foil stamping mani! Haha

“St Patrick’s day”

I love this year’s green manicures! I have never been in involved in creating these fun and interesting prompts. For this prompt, I created a mani using a beautiful Moyra stamping plate and I submitted the same mani for another nail art collaboration too.

This mani is so much fun to create, I did try to use alot of colours for the stamping decals!

Products used;

  • Moyra Primeava stamping plate
  • Painted polish in Midnight mischief
  • Little Ondine nail polish in Copper Spark
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri polish in Just in Lime
  • Glisten and Glow HK girl fast drying top coat
  • Mundo dear Una neon green stamping polish

“Unseasonal”

For the prompt, I created a pastel snowy mani with snowflakes! My original plan was to create a Christmas mani but I liked the idea as I have to go into office the next day.

  • Uber Chic beauty stamping plates Christmas 1 and 2
  • Moyra white stamping polish
  • Freckles polish in you make me so matte
  • This matte top coat is one of the best I’ve tried! I got another 2 bottles for backup 🙂

“Mothers”

In the UK, mother’s day falls in March and couple of months before the international Mother’s day celebrated in the US. But we have father’s day the same as rest of the world.

For this prompt, I created a subtle but pretty design. My mum doesn’t really like bright colours and I like pink! So I’ve used a few soft pink polishes. Odette is to die for! It is such a beautiful thermal polish 🙂

Products used;

  • Femme fatale polishes in Odette and Lavera (Rainbow connection store exclusive)
  • Moyra Primeava stamping plate (again!)
  • Colour Alike stamping polish in Silver King
  • Glisten and Glow HK girl fast drying top coat

I love the images here, especially the mum and cold palm prints!

“Magic”

Ahem! This is my #NailFail of the year! My original idea for this prompt “Magic” was to create an undersea scenery on my nails, then paint a dark blue thermal polish on top. So at cold state, you can only see dark sea with some sea weeds. In warm state, it would have exposed a lovely undersea scene with fishes and creatures. Unfortunately, the thermal polish I have chosen was not opaque enough and little on the sheer side! But I hope you get my vision on this one!

  • Barry M Silk nail paint in Mist
  • Painted polish Boating in Blue Jeans (blue stamping polish)
  • Sally Hansen InstDri polish in Just in Lime
  • Kpt themal polish in “Show me Polaris”

Phew!! What a long post to include all the manicures created for the March Nail art challenge! I hope you enjoyed this post and love these manis as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Thank you and have a beautiful week ahead!

Green St Paddy manicures: Happy Saint Patrick’s day!

Hello there! I have 2 green manicures to show you today! Celebrating St Patrick’s day, you supposed to wear something green, so the leprechaun won’t see then pinch you! Interesting, I never knew that… But wouldn’t mind finding a pot of gold if I find any rainbow today!!! It was crazy warm and sunny in the UK.

First up, we have a manicure created using stencils from Sweet Lacquer. I was very lucky to win some of their store credits in a recent raffle prize draw. I spent the whole $25 on some beautiful nail stencils!

Products used for this mani:

  • Fair maiden Golden holo Archeress
  • Born pretty dark green and gold stamping polishes
  • Sally Hansen InstaDri Just in Lime
  • Sweet lacquer Celtic knots nail stencils

The stencils have very clean peel, I like them!

Next, we have a green mani that I created for nail art collaborations. I joined the St Patrick’s day mani Collab with Donna, as well as the #clairestelle8March for the prompt “St Patrick’s day”.

I rediscovered my Moyra Primeava stamping plate, it has so many pretty spring themed images on it.
Products used for this mani:

  • MdU neon green stamping polish
  • Moyra white stamping polish and Primeava stamping plate
  • Little Ondine Copper Spark
  • Painted polish in Midnight Mischief
  • Glisten and Glow HK girl fast drying top coat

I love this mani! It has gradient, stamping and stamping decals. The gold glitter polish by Little Ondine is a peelable polish! So I don’t have to soak my fingers in acetone when I want to remove them. It stays on well and very easy to remove after wear.

Thank you and have a lovely Saint Patrick’s day!

Instagram Nail Art challenge #clairestell8jan Part 2

Morning everyone! What a wet and gloomy Monday for us here in the UK. It isn’t cold but it is just drizzling non stop.
Today we are finalising the post on January nail art challenge that I’ve been participating. I’ve completed all 7 prompts and here are the last 4. Check out part 1 for previous entries to the challenge.

Prompt #4. Home Decor Inspired
Here are some nails with Moroccan style and design influences, I have always been intrigued by its boldness and use of colours. I’ve included the googled images that totally inspired this look!

Prompt #5. Circles
You can see lots of dots making up the circular shapes, but I don’t actually have a sold circle apart from the nail studs. Oh dear.
I like the base colour “Ring of Fire” used for this mani, as this is part of the prize from the draw I was lucky enough to win. I’m very grateful to be able to participate and actually winning something is an absolute joy! The polish itself is great towork with, 2 coats for full opacity, needs 1 layer of top coat for smoothness.

Prompt #6. Out of your comfort zone
So, what could be more out of my comfort zone than watermarbled nails? I have attempted this technique twice and I weren’t too proud of them!
What made the difference this time round, I believe is the tool.. the polishes.. the termperature of the room… and the alignment of all the planets in the universe (wahahaha).

Prompt #7. Holographic
I was going to go all out with my super holographic polishes, but since this prompt coincides with Chinese New Year. I took this opportunity to combine the two by using a lovely magenta pink thermal with holo glitter pieces! The transition colours are amazing in this Femme Fatale’s Clever Girl polish. It looks so pretty in real life, I want a back up!!

26 Great Nail Art Ideas – Pastel Christmas (23-12-2016) @iamcherrylemon

This is my last Christmas mani for the year, and I did wear this on Christmas day! This stamping plate was sent to me by the lovely Daisy from Born Pretty nail art store as a surprise gift. She did not ask me to review this or pay me to write this post! But I love the plate; it has various designs for some very festive manicures.  I’ve decided it will be perfect for my #26GNAI post. This plate has various good images and extremely appropriate for Christmas and new year. I have never had any issue with Born Pretty stamping plate and this is no exception. It picks up easily and works with all my stamping polishes!

I really like the Pretty Serious creme polishes; they are pigmented and very lovely to work with. I have no idea why I held out for so long and not bought these. The Cirque holo top coat is a limitied edition polish that is only available in the festive collection. It adds to the holoness without distorting the depth of colours. I’ve purchased these from Rainbow Connection UK.

Products I have used:

  • Pretty Serious pastel pet name polishes in Fluffykins, Cutie Patootie and Doodle Bug
  • Colour Alike white stamping polish
  • Cirque polish in “We Trippy” (holo top coat)
  • Born Pretty stamping plate BPX-L008 (Currently on sale at $1.99)
  • Leighton Denny Quick Dry top coat

Thank you and Happy Wednesday!

Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month #pcanovember16 (Flowers #2) @iamcherrylemon

Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month November 2016 (Part 1 of 2) Nail Art Challenge

Hi there and good day to you.

Today I will be sharing a few manicures that I have created for the #pcnovember16 nail art challenge on Instagram. This nail art challenge is hosted by two lovely ladies Debbie (ladyandthe_stamp) and Jayne (starryeyed83), whose close family members have been affected by the Pancreatic cancer. This disease is not often diagnosed early enough, so these ladies are hoping to raise awareness on this topic by running this initiative.

This is my first year of joining this annual nail art challenge, I hope to help with raising awareness as well as spreading the word. This nail art challenge is very flexible, the prompts are exactly the same as last year’s. There’s a rough timeline for posting each week’s mani but this is not crucial and the ladies are so relaxed about it. The only requirement is to make sure the manicure is mainly purple or include the colour purple. #purplenailsforpancreaticcancer

First prompt: Hearts/Love

For this prompt, I have used the brand new Dixiegirl “Love” stamping plate. This plate is of excellent quality and it is packed with some very cute designs.

The base is Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in “Prickly Pear”, and stamped with Color Club holo hues “Harp on it” and Wikkid polish in “Pure Velvet”. The stamped images are crisp and clear, all thanks to an excellent plate and polish. It seems all of my clear jelly stampers can pick up the images without issues.

Second prompt: Gradient

I have created a holographic purple gradient as base. It contains Lilypad lacquer in “She’s all that”, Bohemian polishes in “Furry little problem solver” and “See no Dreams”. I have used EdK Andromeda as the stamping polish, and the wonderful Petla “The Perfect One” stamping plate.

Third prompt: Flowers

For this prompt, I have created 2 manicures as I could not decide on which to wear. Yes I was sporting mismatching manis for a few days. Not a rule in my books to have matching nails! The base is a pastel gradient using Illamasqua Jo’Mina, Barry M Gelly nail paints in Prickly Pear and Fondant.

Version #1: Watercolour flowers

I used the Dixie Girl DP02 plate for the daisy pattern, stamping with Wikkid polish in Pure Velvet. It is a really good purple stamping, one coater! Then, a layer of China Glaze Fairy Dust before finishing off with Seche Vite fast drying top coat.

Hope you like the manicures shared, and if you require more information on the pcnovember16. Please head over to Debbie (http://instagram.com/ladyandthe_stamp) and Jayne’s (http://instagram.com/starryeyed83) instagram accounts!

I have 2 more prompts to complete this month, part 2 will be available by the end of November 💜

Thank you and have a lovely day!
