#pcanovember17 Purple Floral Manicure using Born Pretty stamping polish #39942 (Product Review)

Hello there, I hope this post finds you well and ready for the festive season. Today, I will be sharing a review post on Born Pretty Shimmer purple stamping polish and one of the nail designs I used it with. As you know I am addicted to stamping, and I love nothing better than a beautiful and opaque stamping polish that works perfectly well with most of my plates.

This bottle of shimmer polish was sent to me by Born Pretty for honest opinion and review.

I have used this polish in this purple floral manicure as part of the #PancreaticCancerAwarenessMonth nail art collaboration.

Purple Floral Reversed stamping mani #pcanovember17 @iamcherrylemon

Purple Floral Reversed stamping mani #pcanovember17 @iamcherrylemon

As you can see, the shimmer shows well and the polish is very pigmented. It stamps well over white and black.

Opaque in 1 coat

Semi-fast drying time

Good quality at affordable price

The smell of the polish is strong, stronger than your normal nail polish!

Price: $2.99

Where to buy: http://www.bornprettystore.com/born-pretty-stamping-polish-colorful-nail-plate-printing-polish-nail-lacquer-colors-p-39942.html (Shimmer purple is #31)

Overall summary: Stamping polishes can be hit or miss, polishes in the same range can have different characteristics and behave differently.

This shimmer purple stamping polish is very good in my opinion, I love mine opaque so I do not have to over-stamp it.

I would recommend this polish to add to your stamping polish collection, purple will probably not as well used as your standard black, white, silver and gold stamping polishes but it is a good colour to own. I have got the 6ml bottle, which is suitable for occasional use.

Product Review: Ejiubas White Stamper set (Plus super cute Hello Kitty and Unicorn nail designs using reverse stamping technique)

Hello all, it is Thursday 30th Nov 2017, and we just had a dusting of snow in London! I am not keen on cold Winter but snowflakes are so pretty!

In today’s post, I will be reviewing the new Ejiubas white stamper set, which was kindly sent to me for review, honest opinion and testing. Actually, Guiwen didn’t even request me to write a blog post on this! But I do like the stamper set and would like to share my thoughts on it with you!

Ejiubas White Stampers @iamcherrylemon

Ejiubas White Stampers @iamcherrylemon

The Stamper Set

There are 3 stampers within this set, each has a white sticky stamper head, cap filled with gorgeous coloured rhinestones pieces (pink, peach and lilac). The body of the stamper is clear and has Ejuibas logo printed on it. There are 3 firm and semi opaque scrapping cards within the set.

To be honest, I am not sure why the body is made of clear plastic, maybe this is for aesthetic purposes. I have the clear Ejiubas stamper too, and it looks crystal clear and very pretty!

This set of stampers is currently being sold on Amazon.com for $9.99 including free shipping.

Dimensions and usage

Each silicone stamper head is measured at 2.8cm across, the stamper casing measures approx. 7cm tall, not a huge stamper but big enough to fit most nail lengths.

The stamper heads are extremely sticky. It is great for beginners, as you will have higher chance of picking up the image.

I find that these stamper heads need no to minimal amount of prepping, in which I only have to use my lint roller and remove the *invisible* film. After a few rolls over the stamper head, the stamper was ready and been in full use ever since!

The scraper cards each measure 8.4cm by 5.3cm (your store card size).

Ejiubas White Stampers (Super Sticky stamper heads) @iamcherrylemon

Ejiubas White Stampers (Super Sticky stamper heads) @iamcherrylemon

I use a clear stamper 90% of the time, I have a few sticky stampers in my stash to help me picking up trickier images. Usually the ones with finer details or the stamping polish I use is very fast drying. I find that a sticky stamper is fabulous in these situations. I have not had any issue picking up various branded plates with my usual stamping polishes.

Ejiubas White Stampers @iamcherrylemon

Ejiubas White Stampers @iamcherrylemon

Care instructions (No, the stamper set does not come with a care card!)

This is just how I care for my stampers to make my stampers last longer and perform better.

I clean my stamper heads with a lint roller after each image pick up, to remove residue polishes. I also clean the heads before each session, to ensure there is no debris and fluff. I never use acetone on it, nor prep it using nail file.

During each session, I stand my stampers up so it does not roll on my table; I replace the lid as soon as I finish using them and store them in a plastic storage case.

Being such a sticky stamper, any dust/fluff will really sticks and hard to remove.

I actually accidentally dropped my stamper onto my carpeted floor, it picked up so much fluff that I had to pick off my fingers. So be careful not to repeat my mistake! If yours do get dirty, just wash it under tap water and air dry it.

If you look after your stampers, they will serve well for months of use.

Ejiubas White Stamper Scrapper Cards @iamcherrylemon

Ejiubas White Stamper Scrapper Cards @iamcherrylemon

  • Super sticky stamper heads, probably the stickiest stamper I own (and I own over 30 stampers in total!)
  • Easy to use
  • Easy to prime and prep
  • Great value, at $9.99 for 3 stampers plus cards, you just can’t beat the price.
  • Great for beginners
  • Great for finer detailed stamping images

  • Maybe too sticky? (not really a “con” if you are not careless like me and dropping stampers onto the floor!
  • 3 stampers are practically the same, it would be nice to have different sizes. Maybe a bigger one so I can make bigger stamping decals and cut out the areas I like.
  • All 3 stamper heads are white, using white stamping polish with it will be tricky. May I suggest to mix in with a coloured stamper head?

My thoughts on this stamper set

I believe this set is of great value, for $9.99, you get 3 super sticky stampers that are easy to use and look very pretty!

The scraper cards are unfortunately not too useful to me, my personal preference is semi to fully-flexible scraper cards. I would use these as my mini polish-mixing palettes instead! For me, the best method to use with these stick stamper heads is to press straight down onto the plate for pick up. I am normally a roller, but pressing straight down seems to work beautifully. I would recommend this set of stampers, in fact, when these retire I will surely get the same set as replacement!

Here are 2 nail art designs I did showcasing the clear pick up of images, which helps with detailed designs and also make my reverse stamping decal-making a lot easier!

Super Easy Nail Art! WhatsupNails Colibri Nail Stencils and BeautyBigBang Multichrome holo flakes [Product Review]

Easy Nail Art: WhatsUP Nails Colibri (Hummingbird) nail stencils and BeautyBigBang multichrome flakes @iamcherrylemon

Easy Nail Art: WhatsUP Nails Colibri (Hummingbird) nail stencils and BeautyBigBang multichrome flakes @iamcherrylemon

Hi there! I have a simple and easy yet pretty manicure to share with you today. I will go through step by step on how to achieve it, together with the products I used for this manicure. You are welcome to swap any of the items, shades, stencil designs!

How to achieve this look:

  1. Apply peel off base coat to nails.
  2. Apply 1 to 2 coats of black base colour onto each nail.
  3. Apply no wipe gel top coat then cure each nail.
  4. Accent nail: Apply multichrome holo flakes onto the entire nail, then stick one of the Colibri (hummingbird silhouette) sticker onto the nail.
  5. All other nails: Apply the Colibri stencil and rub the multichrome flakes in the Colibri silhouette. Peel off the stencil to reveal the Colibri in holo shape!
  6. Apply normal top coat to protect the design.

I know I shouldn’t but I reused the stencil for all other nails, but I made sure the sticker is clean prior to reusing each time! I also have few nails with just the multichrome flakes and not birdies.

Products used:

  • BeautyBigBang Multichrome holo flakes (SKU:J2419-4C)
  • Whats Up Nails Colibri nail stencils
  • Elite99 No wipe gel top coat
  • Revlon nail polish in Stiletto
  • UNT Ready to take off peel off base coat
  • Glisten & Glow top coat

Mini review on BeautyBigBang Multi chrome holographic Flakies

This tub of flakies was easy to use and it requires minimum amount of rubbing for the multichrome effect to appear on the gel top coat. It appears smooth and works very well just with the sponge applicator that comes with the tub. No extra tool is required.

The effect it gives is very pretty, you can see the holo while in the sun and the beautiful shifty colours while indoor or in less light source. I will definitely using this flakes again and would recommend it.

There is 0.2g of product, and I think you can get at least 3 full manicures from it! For $3.29, this is pretty good value.

Super Cute Hello Kitty gradient manicure and [Product Review] BeautyBigBang Gold Glitter Aluminium Flakes

Super Cute Hello Kitty soft pastel gradient manicure @iamcherrylemon

Super Cute Hello Kitty soft pastel gradient manicure @iamcherrylemon

Hello there! Hope you are well and had a great weekend! Today I am sharing a birthday collaboration manicure with you.

This is a birthday manicure created for one of the sweet ladies on IG. The group theme was Hello Kitty nails, I could not pass up on this opportunity to use one of my oldest stamping plate purchase and one of the newest BeautyBIgBang nail art product!

How to achieve this look:

  1. Apply white base colours on all nails and add top coat.
  2. Gradient the pastel colours using a slightly damp sponge onto the nail
  3. Add gold flakes sparingly and protect with another coat of top coat
  4. Create stamping decal using the stamper method. (I picked up the image onto the stamper as usual, using the black stamping polish. Let it dry before adding colours to parts of the image (bows etc).
  5. Cover the decal with Sally Hansen Double Duty, then let dry…
  6. I carefully transfer the decal onto the nail and apply a generous coat of top coat to seal in the design.

Products used:

  • Models Own nail varnishes in Sugar Rush, Candy Floss and Lemon Popsicle
  • Painted Polish Midnight Mischief
  • MyOnlineShop JR40 (from Nail Artisan UK)
  • Gold Silver Glitter Aluminium Flake SKU:J2430-GD
  • Sinful Colors Snow Me White
  • Sally Hansen Double Duty polish
  • Glisten & Glow Top Coat

Mini review on BeautyBigBang Gold Glitter Aluminium Flakes

First of all, I would like to start with the price! $1.59 (or £1.25) for a nail art item, this is what I call a good deal! Although there is only 0.2g of product in the little tub, but that is plenty considering how light the actual material is.

I did find it fiddly to use as it is fairly light and I wanted it to go exactly where I needed the gold flakes. But this is the same problem I had with other flakes, I am not too familiar with the use of flakes yet! I hope to get better and limit myself to use a long handle brush instead of the little eye shadow applicator that comes with the tub. It is absolutely fine to use the applicator, but I need more precision!

I find the flakes add an extra bit of glam and sparkle to any nail design, and cannot wait to use it again. I have couple more designs in mind utilising this item.

Halloween Manicure: Holographic Mummies and Born Pretty nail art brush set review #40899

Hallow, hello!
Today, I am sharing a manicure I did for a Halloween nail art prompt, “mummies”. For this mani, I freehand the design using a set of nail art brushes I’ve received from Born Pretty.
“Mummies” is one of the themed nail art challenge prompt from #clairestelle8Halloween for 2017.

Halloween manicure: Mummies (Holographic nails) @iamcherrylemon

Halloween manicure: Mummies (Holographic nails) @iamcherrylemon

Products used:

  • Born Pretty nail art brush set #40899
  • Wikkid polishes in Ultra Holo “Parma Violet”, “Candy Floss”, “Chartreuse” and “Shades of Jade”
  • Wikkid “Ultra shine top coat”
  • Black and white acrylic paints

To recreate:
1. Paint your nails with your chosen holo nail polishes
2. Hand draw the bandages by using diagional lines across the nails
3. Add eyes
4. Add top coat onto all nails

I quite enjoy freehand nail art, this design is easy to complete and fun to do. I wished I took more care in drawing the lines, this is what happens when you need to wear glasses but don’t! ha!
Although this is cute, as a scaredy cat in her trun form. I got the creeps and had to take this design off soon after taking pictures! gosh I need to grow up and be brave, wahahaha!

This looks cute (but creepy scary to me), what do you think? 🙂

Mini review on the Born Pretty Liner Brush Set #40899
This is a set of 3 nail art brushes, these have gourd handles to make it very easy to handle and let the user have a firm and steady grip on the brush.
The bristles are not long, soft and very flexible. It makes them great for drawing and colouring in designs. The brush sizes of this set are very similar but they are not thin, the bristle lengths are different (see picture below).

These are not suited for ultra fine, detailed work. I use another set of BPS brushes for detailed work and thin lines. I do not expect 1 set of brushes to fit all my nail art design needs.

I love the grip handles on these brushes, they feel comfortable on the hand and glide effortlessly on the nail.
Overall, this nail art brush set is great and its price make it unbeatable! I can foresee myself reaching out for this set whenever I need a brush for stamping decal making, general nail art designs. (plus, I can finally retire my 3 years old brush set from BPS! They lasted me for 3 years and still hold up to all type of abuse I throw at them.)

This set of brushes are currently priced at USD $2.29 Born Pretty online store

Thank you for visiting and have a great day.

NOTE: The nail art brush was sent to me by Born Pretty PR, for honest review and testing. All other items are mine and purchased by me. This post is not sponsored and does not contain any affiliated links. But please feel free to use my 10% discount code FTL91 for all non-discounted items.

Product Review: Halloween manicure – Spooky Forest (instagram nail art challenge) & Born Pretty Halloween plate BP-L057

Morning all, hope this post finds you well and you are all ready for Halloween on Monday!
I regularly participate in a few instagram nail art challenges and collaborations every month. One of the challenges I like is the “Fire Dazed monthly”. It is hosted by Becky and her prompts are always season appropriate and easy to be inspired to.
Today’s prompt is “Spooky Forest”, and I ave incorporated some trees into my design and used one of the more subtle and elegant pattern for the accents.

Halloween Manicure "Spooky Forest" Instagram nail art challenge (Born Pretty Chameleon nail art powder and BP-L057) @iamcherrylemon

Halloween Manicure “Spooky Forest” Instagram nail art challenge (Born Pretty Chameleon nail art powder and BP-L057) @iamcherrylemon

Products used:

  • Born Pretty Halloween stamping plate BP-L057 #35742 (BPS online $2.99)
  • BPS Top-Grade Chameleon nail art powder #38616 ($3.59)
  • Hit the Bottle Chromeo stamping polish
  • Revlon nail lacquer in Stiletto (black base)
  • Elite99 No wipe gel top coat
  • UNT Ready to take off peel off base coat
  • Wikkid Ultra shine top coat

I started off with a peel off base coat and a coat of black base colour on all the nails. Then I topped this black base with a no wipe gel top coat before curing this using my mini LED lamp.
I am finding the use of a no wipe top coat is the easiest way to use these nail art powder. It creates a very smooth base for the powder, it looks absolutely beautiful and works really well.
I lightly buffed the chameleon nail art powder onto the nails, then I stamped directly onto the polished nails using the chrome silver stamping polish.
Next I sealed it with the UNT peel off base coat, followed by a layer of fast drying top coat.

I like this mani as it has some links to Hallween but in a subtle way. What do you think?

Mini review on Born Pretty Halloween stamping plate BP-L057
This plate contains a good mixture of cute and conventional Halloween related images. The images on this plates can be picked up easily using my sticky stamping (BPS Starry Sky sticky stamper #36395) and my Dual clear stamper (#36148). I used both BPS stamping polishes as well as Painted Polish Midnight mischief.
I believe I can make use of all of the images but hard to imagine how to use the images near the bottom (the slanted ones!). My nails are way too wide and long to fit in the area. I guess I can stamp these diagonally across the nails? but how to use the same images on both hands as the images are slanting 1 way only? If you have a suggestion for me on how to make full use of these slanting images, please let me know!! Thank you 🙂

Instagram nail art challenge – When colours collide! “BLUE” and Born Pretty gorgeous flower stamping plate BP-L085 review

# PR Sample #

Hello there! I’m back from a week’s vacation, it was really fun and also exhausting. I managed to wear a single polish for over 11 days, which I have not done so before! So weird to wear the same shade for so long.
Anyhow, today I’m sharing a manicure I created for the “When colour collide” nail art challenge. WCC is a FB based challenge, there’s a new theme every 2 weeks. It could be colour restricted, technique specific or themed and colour restricted. As the variation of themes is pretty great, it is always fresh and challenging for anyone to participate.
Last week’s prompt was for a blue-only mani in any technique. I’ve chosen too use gradient stamping over a gorgeous blue shimmer base.

Products used:

  • Born pretty BP-L085 Rose Lotus Gorgeous Flower Stamping Plate (#40221, $2.99 online)
  • Bliss polish in “Hangin’ with the fishes”
  • Painted Polish in Deux 2 and stamped in Seafoam
  • Glisten and Glow HKG top coat

The base colour was so pretty on its own, it was very hard to actually stamp over it. I shall revisit this polish in the near future.
Overall, I quite like how this mani turned out. Use the hash tag #whencolourscollide on Instagram to view all other gorgeous designs.

Mini review on Born Pretty BP-L085 Rose Lotus Gorgeous Flower Stamping Plate (#40221)
This plate has 14 gorgeous full sized stamping images and 6 kaleidoscope style flower designs. I have another mani design coming up using this plate 🙂
All the stamping images are suitable for short to medium long nails. For longer nails you might need to stretch the image or repeat stamping to achieve the complete design on the longer nail lengths.

I had no issues with the image pickup, this is kind of what I would expect from BPS plates.
This new plate is currently priced at BPS $2.99 USD with free worldwide shipping.

Thank you for visiting and happy Monday to you!

26 Great Nail Art Ideas – Your Signature Style (Holo+Multichrome powder tryout!)

Hello and happy Friday!
Well well well! My final blog post for #26GNAI! I cannot believe it was a year ago since I started this nail art challenge. It took quite a bit of commitment to finish all 26 prompts for this biweekly challenge.
But I’m glad I’ve done it, I love nail art challenges.

So this week’s prompt is “Your Signature Style”…. I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do. I love stamping and I love multichrome. So I completed this prompt using a new holo chrome powder sent to me for review, plus my own stamping plate and stamping polish.

Products used:

  • Born pretty stamping plate BP-L093, black stamping polish and the new Peacock Holographic Chameleon Nail Powder item # 40893 (comes with a runny sponge applicator)
  • Gel top coat
  • Superchic marvel holo top coat

Mini review on the holo chrome powder
Ok, first of all, I would like to clarify that I’m pretty late to this powder mani party, I don’t normally use chrome or holo powder. I have only just started using these powder with normal polishes.
This is the first time I’ve used a gel polish with led light. Haha I could have just said I’m a beginner!
Anyhow, I’ve tried this holo Chameleon nail powder with normal and with gel powder. The normal polish does work with this powder but for some reason the holo dust doesn’t want to stick onto the polished nail.
When I used a no wipe top coat, then the holo layer of the multichrome powder does stick and it really changes the entire look. So I would highly recommend that you use this powder with gel.
The powder was easy to use and I would recommend that you use the sponge applicator. Using the finger kind of removes alot of the holo particles.
Summary: Use gel polish/top coat and sponge applicator with this Born pretty holo Chameleon powder to get the expected result.

You can get this teeny tub of Peacock Holographic Chameleon Nail Powder #40893 for $1.99. it is currently on sale!

The stamping plate BP-L093 is $2.99 from Born pretty as well.

And!… I’ll do a round up post for all my #26GNAI manis 🙂

Thank you and have a gorgeous day 😉

Note. The holo chrome powder was sent to me for honest review.

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Autumn (Macro / Painted Polish in Ghoul Next Door) @iamcherrylemon

26 Great Nail Art Ideas – Autumn

Happy Friday! Can you believe we are on our 25th of the 26 GNAI posts? It will feel quite strange finishing this annual bi-weekly challenge which took quite a lot of commitment in order to complete! I am still unsure if I want to continue for another 26 or 52! Anyhow, this Friday’s #26GNAI is about Autumn. Very suiting to what is going on right now, the temperature is dropping, the days are getting shorter and everyone just generally looking and feeling sluggish! Maybe, it is only me?

For this manicure, I wanted to make use of the glitter polish that I love! So, it is perfect with some black stamping of leaves. For the shimmer stamping polishes to stand out, I needed to use a solid colour base. So I limited myself on the colour choices.. I actually really liked how this manu turned out. The top coat Seche Vite is known to be thick and glossy, so that’s great for the glitter accents.

Products used:

  • Painted Polish in Midnight mischief and the Ghoul next door (a brilliant orange micro glitter polish, it was part of Halloween 2016)
  • Hit the Bottle stamping polishes in Drop red gorgeous and Copper hair girl
  • Maggie Anne nail polish in Pearl
  • Uber Chic Beauty stamping plate – Autumn 01
  • Seche Vite fast drying top coat

Here’s a macro shot of the glitter polish, I love it! It is so much clearer than what I can see with my own eyes! Ha!

26 Great Nail Art Ideas – Dotting Tools but not just dots! (Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream inspired manicure) #26GNAI

Hello! It is #26gnai time again. This week’s prompt is about dotting tools, but not just dots on the nails.
I love using my dotting tools, I get my set from Born Pretty (click here for mini review) few years ago and they are still looking very nice.

I have always wanted to recreate a Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream inspired manicure for years, but never got round to actually complete. You don’t need alot of tools, just 2 sizes of dotting tools (or toothpicks!) to create these. So this manicure, is pretty perfet for this challenge prompt!

26 Great Nail Art Ideas - Dotting Tools (Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream inspired manicure) @iamcherrylemon

26 Great Nail Art Ideas – Dotting Tools (Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream inspired manicure) @iamcherrylemon

Products used:

  • Models Own Soft Pop Collection in Sugar Rush
  • Colour Alike Kind of White stamping polish
  • Polish My Life – Sexy Shoreline
  • Wikkid polish in Cosmic Dust and Ultra Shine top coat
  • Few round gold studs from Born Pretty

How to create a Marc Jacobs Daisy inspired manicure:
1. I started off with a good layer of base coat
2. Next, painting my thumb, pointer and little fingers using the Model Own pastel blue polish. Middle finger was painted with the light beige.
3. Sponged on Cosmic Dust on my ring finger for full opacity
4. Using a dotting tool, dab some white polish and create the “daisies” with white dots
5. Add a drop of clear polish (or nail glue) to centre of each daisy, add the round gold stud
6. Finish off with a layer of ultra shine top coat

Easy peasy and I cannot believe why I didn’t try this manicure beforehand.

Thank you and hope you have a lovely day 🙂
