Morning there, how are you? Retail therapy strikes again (at me obviously!). I was browsing the internet last week and realised Burberry has launched a new line of cream eye products, call the Eye Colour Cream! There are 8 colour variations available. The colours look great on the webpage but it was not easy to pick the colours! So I picked Gold Copper and Mink, thinking these might be easier to use for the summer months and great for everyday use.
These glass jars might look familiar, I have got the Cheek Lip Bloom which also come in a glass jar (reviewed here)! These things are looking cuter by the minute. Ok, ready for a quick review?
I received these pots with next day delivery last week, and have been using them for a week 🙂
Official Description: A creamy, blendable eye shadow that delivers an effortless wash of luminising colour. The cushion-soft, lightweight cream eye shadow glides across the skin to deliver illuminating colour that can be easily blended to create a bespoke finish. The long-lasting, crease-free formula can be worn alone to add tone, depth and shadow or combined for a more dramatic result. Using the unique, flat-angled brush, it can also be applied as an eyeliner along the upper or lower lash line.
Packaging: These glass jars are great to look at and stackable. They won’t look out of place on your pretty vanity. For me, I do prefer travel friendly packaging. These are pretty weighty. Each cream shadow pot comes with a retractable angled brush. I can imagine myself losing these brushes already…. They are small!
Product/formulation: The formula is not like your average cream eye shadow, this has no oily feel to it at all. It is almost dry and velvety to touch. Yet it spreads and blends easily on the eyelids without dragging. I prefer to use my fingers to apply and blend the shadows. The brush is better used for apply these colours as liner.
The 2 colours I have are both *luminous*, basically not matte!
Colour/Pigmentation: The colour is not super intense but you can build on it pretty quickly. For the photo swatches, I have used 2 swipes of each colour and photos were taken in natural indirect sunlight. I wished we had brighter sunlight today for better swatches. I might redo these in the near future.
The Gold Copper has a more noticeable sheen to it than Mink. These 2 colour work well together.
Longevity: I did not expect the cream shadow to last as long as it did without eyelid primer on my super oily lids! I got around 6 to 7 hours wear out of these, By the end of the day, it started to fade at the outer corner area. All in all, I am happy and impressed with its performance.
Overall Summary: I am in love with the colours! I would like to get my hands on Dusty Pink and Dusty Mauve next! Although, these are pretty pricy at £25 a pot! 4 out of 5 from me!
It would be fantastic if Burberry woud release colour coordinated palettes with these shadow formula. Hint hint! 😉
