Good morning everyone 😀 Have you had a nice weekend?

Today, I will be sharing my views on one of the most raved about cleansing balms by Emma Hardie Amazing Face Moringa Cleansing Balm.

The packaging

The gold toned plastic tub looks great, if it was glass it would be even prettier but I guess it will be reflected in the price. (It’s the contents that counts!) The plastic tub is probably one of the most “complained about” part of the product.

I mail-ordered mine from Space NK and it was a tad too oily on the tub when it arrived. I took it back to the store and asked for advice. The lady said it is very likely to have leaked a bit and assured me there won’t be any contamination. Later I’ve found that the lid was actually cracked slightly. So to me, this is a bit of a let-down. This is a common issue with the lid with other users.

The product

Upon opening the tub, the balm looks like set honey, in terms of colour and consistency. It contains a blend of essential oils; you will be able to pick up the lovely scent of orange, neroli, mandarin, jasmine and rose. It smells very natural and fresh. The product has been dermatologically tested, free from parabens and alcohol and it has a shelf life of 6 months. I am guessing this is essential oils that it contains, will have to be fresh to be effective.

This cleansing balm kit comes with a micro-fibre dual action polish and buff cleansing cloth, (I cannot believe I am going to say this but I love it) this posh flannel is so soft, effective and has luxurious feel to it. It goes so well with the cleansing balm. I have not photographed it as it is less than brilliant white at the moment.

This product is suitable for all skin types, including oily and blemished can help to re-balance the skin.

To use, mix a few drops of warm water to a small amount of the cleansing balm in your palms. This will turn the cleansing balm into cream. Apply and massage this cream onto the skin, this will eliminate all grime and makeup including waterproof ones. I also used this on my eye lids, I did not feel any stinging or irritation. It feels very gentle yet effective.

My take on the product

I can still remember the first time I used this product; I was overwhelmed by just how relaxing it smelled. The warm flannel and the scent hits you like a pillow of relaxation and bliss. It was like having a luxurious facial at an expensive spa!

In the swatch below, I am using the cleansing balm over one of my hardest to remove eyeliner “They’re Real Push up Liner”. It took couple of swipes to remove 99% of the liner.

I do prefer to use cleansing balm over cleansing oils, as it is easier to control and it is less likely that I will get anything into my eyes. Don’t be afraid of the texture, go and check this product out in a store near you.

My skin always feel brighter, refreshed, hydrated and nourished. Despite all these benefits, I only use this few times a week.

Pros

  • Amazing scent
  • Cleans effectively
  • Little product goes a long way
  • Skin benefits of Moringa seed extracts (skin clearing and brightening; contains antioxidant properties)
  • For dry skin types the Moringa cleansing balm can also double up as an overnight hydrating mask

Cons

  • On the expensive side!
  • Lid might cracks and leaks

Packaging: 2/5

Price: £36 for 100ml, 2/5

Effectiveness: 5/5

Overall Summary: This is hands-down one of the best all-round cleanser I’ve ever tried. It is a joy to use, smells divine and cleans brilliantly. But all these come with a hefty price tag. I will repurchase as a splurge / treat.
