Morning and Happy Saturday! Hope you are well and healthy.
Today, I am reviewing one of my favourite new finds in the last 12 months. I am 100% skincare junkie, and have been/will be jumping onto any sort of skincare bandwagons! Sarah Chapman was one of the brands that’s originated from London, UK.
Sarah, the founder of the company, is a super-facialist to the rich and famous. Her skincare range is formulated with a blend of potent active skincare ingredients and natural essential oils. Her Skinesis Clinic is based in South Kensington. I do not think I will EVER book an appointment, £170 for a 60 minutes facial… maybe when I have won the lottery! For now, home facials will be fine for me 🙂
This is the Pro Expert Home Facial Collection containing the famous Overnight Facial, Intense Hydrating Booster Serum, 3D Moisture Infusion, Ultimate Cleanse with cleansing mitts and Facialift massage tool. This set provides the tools you need for a facial at home, leaving your skin bright, refreshed and radiant.
I bought this as a set from QVC and the set was under £72 but it is no longer available as a set. I will list the individual item price with each product review.
Ultimate Cleanse is a oil based makeup remover/cleanser balm, it is fragranced with floral essential oils (a blend of camphor, neroli, chamomile, jasmine and rose).
The cleanser contains baobab and borage oils, both are known for its effective moisture retention properties. The blend of vitamins will help to boost collagen production.
To use, apply small amount of balm cleanser onto face and make circular motions. It helps to lifts off dead skin cells. Add water to emulsify the balm into milk that can be rinsed off easily. This balm cleanser also acts as a gentle exfoliator thanks to its vitamin A, white lily and Dermaxyl peptide components.
Effectiveness: This effectively removes all traces of makeup including waterproof mascara and heavy coverage foundations. For that extra gentle exfoliation, use with the specially designed cleansing gloves. The gloves are super soft and it helps to clean the skin well. It does work well and true to its claim on the brighter and clearer skin that does not feel dry.
Fragrance: I believe the scent is one of its selling point, but for me, this is too strong.. even for a natural floral scent!
Overall Summary: A good cleanser with heavy floral scents, great if you like that “expensive home spa” feeling. It definitely smells like one! I love everything about this cleanser balm apart from its packaging! The cleanser comes in a tube which I do not like, as the oils get squeezed out every single time before the actual cleanser can be extracted.
But you don’t have to worry about it, all new version of this cleanser is now in a pump bottle form!
Price: £40 for 100ml (more expensive than the Emma Hardie Moringa! I should be reviewing it shortly! ).
Professional Cleansing Mitts
A pair of dual texture cleansing mitts made with soft cotton fabric enclosing a thin layer of sponge. The sponge makes it even more luxurious, it makes the mitt feel soft and very gentle.
I’m glad I’ve saved one for photos! Hehe very clean!
Overall Summary: Not a necessity, but a very “nice to have” item that will enrich your home spa experience.
Price: £14 a pair, unlikely to repurchase
This is the star of the show! This is a silky serum that helps to plump the skin during the night. It contains a potent blend of antioxidants, anti-inflammatory omega oils, vitamins, firming peptide, jasmine and rose.
This overnight treatment is recommended for dull, tired skin that needs intensive nourishment and pampering care. It aims to temporarily reduce the signs of fine lines, evens out the tone and texture. Leaving the skin firm and healthy looking.
To use, squeeze one pump and gently massage it onto the whole face and neck area.
Effectiveness: This works very well for my skin, it contains natural ingredients that are highly effective. It leaves my skin feeling and looking refreshed every single time that I use this. Overall complexion looks brighter and more “awake”! I am addicted to this stuff.
Fragrance: deliciously fragranced with a soothing pure essential oil blend of jasmine, frangipani, rose and tuberose. Frangipani is one of my favourite scents in body and skincare products.
Overall Summary: This is my number 1 “Go-to” when my skin is not looking its best. My Love!
Price: £46 for 15ml or £445 for 15ml with a limited edition LALIQUE Crystal bottle! SPLURGE or what!?
Score: 5/5 from me!
Intense Hydrating Booster
Official Description: Intense defence and hydrating moisture relief for thirsty skin. (how can you not fall for this? I did :P)
This is a lightweight, smooth serum that is recommended for dehydrated and unbalanced skin. This serum contains Hyaluronic Acid to help the skin maintain moisture level. It has a droplet so you can control how much to dispense. But the droplet button on the lid is not the best, looks good thou.
The serum aims to help plump up any fine lines and boost moisture in your skin. A great instant “pick-me-up” for that dewy radiant healthy glow.
Effectiveness: This works well as a pre day/night cream treatment to add in the extra layer of moisture.
I love how easy this gets absorbed into the skin. It seems to drunk this stuff upon application. A lovely addition to my skincare routine.
Fragrance: Not an obvious scent
Overall Summary: This yields good but not dramatic result, if I had to choose between taking this serum or the overnight facial… I will take the overnight facial in a heartbeat!
Price: £58 for 30ml
3D Moisture Infusion Treatment Mask
This is a very fancy sheet mask as I’ve never used a sheet mask within this price range!
This mask contains Hyaluronic Acid and rosewater. It helps injecting moisture into the skin and rosewater will have a lovely calming effect on the skin afterwards.
There are 3 layers and the outer 2 are there to protect the actual face mask from being damages. They need to be removed before applying onto your cleansed face. Leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. Remove mask and gently massage the remaining serum into the skin.
Overall Summary: A very good and indulgent mask for special occasion. It is effective but I am not sure it is worth the price tag. The end result is great but it is not something a Hydrogel mask cannot achieve. So I will stick with my Hydrogel masks for similar results at fraction of the price.
Price: £39 for 4 masks
Score: 2/5 (just because of the price!)
Facialift Massage Tool
This is a flexible plastic facial massaging tool. It has eight rolling heads and each with 12 massaging nodes. It aims to help with puffiness in the face area. It has been designed to mimic the tapping, pinching and knuckling of Sarah Chapman’s facial massage.
To be very honest, it hurts my face really bad every time I dare enough to use it. It might deliver great results but it is way too uncomfortable for me to continue its use. I have seen $2 replica of this (try Daiso, or Korea/Japanese budget beauty stores), and I have heard good things about them.
Score: 1/5 Good concept but not for me
Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post 🙂
I really like Sarah Chapman skincare range, the Overnight Facial will definitely be on my repurchase list 🙂
