Hi there, Burberry has launched a complete new range of lipsticks few days ago! Joining the existing Lip velvets (mattes), Lip Mists (sheer) and Lip Glows (glosses). This new range is set to replace the existing Lip Cover lipsticks (full coverage lip sticks).
This range offers 28 shades from brights and vampy colours, there will be a shade for everyone. Although, Wendy Rowe used only Nude Beige on all the models during the AW15 Runway show last week! I’m not brave enough to walk around with that light shade yet!
Official Description: Discover Burberry Kisses, the effortlessly buildable lip colour, designed to give multiple lip looks with just one shade
The weightless formula delivers a customisable make-up result – a single kiss of colour gives understated luminosity, two or three kisses give intense depth and vibrancy
A rich blend of satin-finish pigments and shiny polymers gives luminous colour brilliance
Enriched with our signature blend of tea, lavender and rosehip, the whisper-light texture glides on with supreme comfort and gives six hours of continuous hydration.
The packaging is no different to their existing line of lipsticks. Metallic gunmetal casing with embossed check patterns and magnetic closure to the lid. The bullet also has the check pattern as well. All looking very aligned with the range.
The lipstick formula contains a blend of tea, lavender and Rosehip extracts. It promises high pigmentation with hydrating properties, leaving your lips smooth and hydrated. The signature scent of the Burberry makeup line is not detectable. Apparently, this new line is made fragrance free. Great news to those who are sensitive to fragrance perfumes.
This range boosts:
- Buildable coverage (from sheer to full)
- Long lasting formula for 6 hours
- Continuous hydration
All swatches done with 1 swipe from left to 4 swipes on the right.
Bright Plum (No. 101) is darker than I expected. It is more suitable to wear during Autumn and Winter. But I might still try this with a layer in the summer months 🙂 A classic plum colour… maybe I can do a Kendall Jenner’s Berry lips!
Claret Pink (No. 45) is a medium soft pink that wears sheerer than I like.
Crimson Pink (No. 53) is my favourite of the trio. It looks so lovely on the lips. It is a warm medium pink, I like 2 swipes of this during the day in the office.
I’ve selected three colour options, namely Crimson Pink (No. 53), Bright Plum (No. 101) and Claret Pink (No. 45). I thought I will try some different colours this time round. I did make a beeline for the reds but I have already got the beautiful Miltary Red and Poppy Red in other formulas.
So how do they last and feel on the lips?
I do like wearing two layers to achieve an easy to wear look. Three layers looks perfectly immaculate and great for evening.
It transfers lightly onto drink glasses and lasts about 4 hours for me before I had to retouch it with another layer. It does leave a stain on the lips, especially the Bright Plum option. Claret Pink was sheerer than the other two colours and might need extra layers to achieve total opacity. All wears extremely well on the lips, it does last but not as well as the mattes.
In summary, I like the sheen of the lipsticks, and how moistured it made my lips felt. Crimson Pink will be my new favourite in my handbag!
