Hi there! Today I’m sharing my review on the newest Burberry Beauty item “SS15 Runway Palette”. To me, this is one of the very first limited edition beauty products that has been created. This is not a normal change of packaging, this is a brand new design! I’ve been waiting for the launch for over two weeks. First spotted in Wendy Rowe SS15 Burberry looks tutorial on YouTube. This is marketed as a face highlighter on the site, but to me, I will only use it as a blush with the slight highlighting powder!
The design is based on the SS15 runway theme “Rain or Shine”, featuring an artwork from the Prorsum collection.
The packaging is slightly different, this blusher has a printed plastic sleeve with the “Rain or Shine” logo. The brush is not housed in the blush palette (which is good, I prefer more product than having the brush inside which takes up alot of space!). The brush is the same slim line design made of natural hair, I do not use this brush with the palette. This has the same scent as the rest of the cosmetic line, it smells of vintage rose! You get a whiff of the scent as your swirl your brush on the palette.
This blush contains 9 grams of product, whereas the normal blushes are 7 grams. So grams for grams, this palette is more expensive than the normal blush range. The metallic casing looks no different too.
The main colour is a Hydrangea pink (not an overlay!), the cloud part is a light cream, peachy tone highlighter powder. There are shimmery overlays on the writings “Rain or Shine”.
When used alone, the highlighter does feel slightly too soft and borderline powdery.
When the colours are used together, it gives a beautiful natural pink flush to the cheeks. I cannot detect any visible shimmer when worn.
A gorgeous fresh pink that’s very suitable to use in the Spring time! The colour payoff is very good, it looks great on my warm toned medium skin. No doubt, this will be a frequently reached for colour for me!
I do own the Hydrangea pink blush, see my review on it here.
From left to right: all colours blended; pink blush swatched on its own; highlighter colour swatched.
This blusher gives a pretty and delicate pink dash of pink, as with all other Burberry blushes…. A light hand is required, I normally use my Real Technqiue duo fibre face brush with them. As it is always easier to build the colour intensity up than to take any colour away!
Price: £45 for 9 grams, the palette is available on Burberry.com.
The AW2015 show is today (23rd Feb 2015 at 1pm GMT), I wonder what new looks and products will be inspired by this! Exciting times!
Have you picked up any new makeup recently? What’s your best finds so far?
Thank you for reading and have a great week!
