Today I have 3 unboxings for you, it took me awhile to have a little dab at the contents!
Memebox x Vagabond Youth (by Amy Lee)
To be very truthful, I have not heard of Vagabond Youth on YouTube before memebox announced the collab. It is like a breath of fresh air as people were still not happy with the 4th Collab box namely the CPM2. It was clear from the beginning that this box will be makeup based, so when it was unboxed, there wasn’t much of a surprise. The aim of the box is to contain the products you can create at least 1 full look, everything you need from base product, to eye makeup to lips. Also, this seems like a mega value box with 9 full sized items and the cost of the box is still $23. Let’s check it out…
Vagabond Youth Box Contents:
Rivecowe Plenty Volume Mascara 10ml, RRP $15
To me, this is a standard black mascara and nothing too special that wows me. Maybe I am too picky, but my lashes are a bit stubby and not many mascaras can make them look spider-like!
dearBerry Toc Toc Blusher 5g, RRP $9
I received the first option Moonshine, this is like white powder with slight shimmer. This is supposed to be used as a highlighter, I don’t think I like this, I can’t get to like it however I have tried.
Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer 10ml, RRP $7
This is probably the most popular product within the box when it was unboxed. I kept hearing really good things about it. When I have been using Urban Decay primer potion for few years, I welcome this new addition. I find that this primer stays put and my shadows can be blended easily (shadows tend to stick to the primer potion and not easy to blend). The shadows look good and stay true to colour, it did last on my oily lids. I didn’t have to use too much of the product, a little goes a long way.
This eye primer is formulated for sensitive skin, which is a great plus!
Etude House Tear Drop Liner 8g, RRP $7
Colour option is randomly selected, I received the #4 option. It is a sparkling liner with not a lot of pigment. So when applied, all you will see a shimmery tear line (the line underneath your lower lash line).
This is not something I am going to incorporate into my makeup routine, happy to use it sparingly.
Color World Matte eye Shadow Palette 8g, RRP $36
Pretty hefty price for such a small palette. The quality is actually pretty good, it is buttery smooth and pigmented. I am surprised I am liking it.
The theme is to mimic the shimmering texture of sandy beaches. It does look like that in the pan but shimmer does not transfer directly fully onto the lids.
ideeB Sweet Gelish Eyeliner 03 Gold Brown 3g, RRP $9
It seems that in K-beauty the black gel liners are not as popular, or we always get brown, gold brown, navy/grey in our boxes? I won’t be using this as I am not a huge fan of pencils.
Miss Age Essential Lip Rouge 8.5ml, RRP $17
I received the Pure Red option. Come on, what’s better than a red lippy!? I own too many liquid red lippies…
Good’p Madeca Cream 20ml, RRP $24
It is not clear from the information card what this is, a skincare product? A blur cream? A makeup base primer?
This is a white cream, in which you use little to smooth over areas where you need to smooth out wrinkles, areas you want to look smoother etc. I have used this like a blurring cream and makeup base. The CC cream goes onto the face very smoothly and it does not “grease up” throughout the day.
Shara Shara Color Control Cream SPF50+ PA+++ 40ml, RRP $24
The colour No.2 Natural Beige was included in all the boxes, and I am so glad about it. This is the shade that matches my skin tones, really happy that I have a BB/CC cream that I can finally use. The CC Cream itself appears white when squeezed out from the tube, but it colour changes to match your skin once applied.
I have been using this CC cream for few weeks now, and so far I am liking it. I didn’t feel comfortable at first as I have always used heavy coverage. This is a big jump from high coverage to a colour correction CC cream!
This CC cream evens out skin tone, the coverage is very light and it has a dewy finish. It feels comfortable and looks skin-like. It lasts on my oily combination skin for 5 to 6 hours, then I had to touch up after that. This is already performing better than other BB/CC creams I have used.
Total retail value of the box is $148, the cost of the box is $23 plus shipping. 9 full sized items make this a really good deal if you get good use of the products. For me, I believe I can use 8 out of the 9 items, so in summary.. I am happy with this box and slightly surprised that I am!!
CPM3 by Marzia (Third CutiePie Marzia x memebox collaboration)
CPM2 box has flopped pretty badly due to many reasons, but I am glad I have got CPM3 in the bundle. CPM Marzia is a YouTuber, she has over 4 million subscribers and her videos are either lifestyle or beauty related. When this box was unboxed/launched I was feeling kinda funny, as I only just cancelled a memeshop order with the same hand cream and nose strips. They were on sales for $5 and $1 a pack respectively! So it is nice to see those wanted items in this box.
Etude House Melting Summer Nails RRP $4
I received the cotton candy option, woohoo! I love it. It contains tiny pink and baby blue beads. I already have something in similar colours to the choco vanilia option! These are like the Ciate London nail caviar beads, they are easy to use and look pretty cute. Please refer to my Caviar nail how-to and NOTD for how to use nail beads!
EnSOAP Lollipops Natural Soap RRP $5
This looks cute, yes it will be gifted :p My original aim for getting this box and CPM2 were to be gifted away!
Missha Lucis Nail Polish CR05 8ml, RRP $4
Okie, I admit. I collect and own a lot of nail polishes, so I do not need or want this :p I won’t even swatch this as it will ruin it for the recipient!
Sua Young Berristure Cream 100g, RRP $40
Strawberry facial gel cream/mask! Yay, I love strawberry and I have not tried a berry mask before. This smells very nice, a keeper for me!
Although I am not sure the listed value of this item, $40!? Ah, you can also use this as a facial cream too. Nice one!
Purederm Nose Strips Choco Cacao 6 strips, RRP $6
Everyone needs nose strips, yucky but true. I have been using Biore nose strips since I was a teen! Biore strips are very effective, as long as the strips have been applied on a damp nose (or T zone area) , user just need to be at a place where moisture can be sapped! i.e. air conditioned room, or near a heater. It’s useless if you keep sweating on your nose thou! Sorry, I am sure everyone knows how to use a nose strip.
These Purederm ones are chocolate scented!
Dearberry Ice Cream Hand Cream Green Tea 30ml, RRP $7
This is one nice smelling hand cream! There are few more options to choose from, lemon, vanilla and chocolate too. I love green tea, I might start collecting these in different flavours.
I am currently using my Skin Food cacao cream from the Chocolate Mania box.
Skin Food Honey Pot Lip Balm 6.5g, RRP$8
Is this little guy mega cute or what!? The spatula does not look like it will work very well! But I do not expect to use this myself. Aww, I can’t get over how sweet and dinky this is.
Pure Smile Honey Queen Cleansing Oil 100ml, RRP $ (No price?)
Funny, the RRP for this is not included on the information card. I can’t (at the time of writing this post) find the retail price of it.
Anyhow, this is a cleansing oil formulated with real honey and acai berries. Oil cleansers are great for removing waterproof makeup. Good news for me, as I only wear waterproof mascara! I shall have a go at this while my current cleansing oil runs out 😀
It sounds like a not-so-useable box to me right?
Total retail value of this box is $70 plus the cleansing oil, I would probably pay $8 max for it. So my estimated value for this CPM3 is $78. The cost of the box is $23 plus shipping.
If you have missed this box then, REST ASSURED, as Marzia CPM has her 4th box coming in November, apparently. Although it has not been confirmed by memebox yet.
Memebox x Sam Schuerman Collaboration
Out of the 3 Youtuber collaborations, Sam is the only one I do watch from time to time. This box contains a mixture of skincare, haircare and makeup. The box is specially designed for Sam. It is box with cute drawings on it.
RiRe Lip Manicure 3.7g, RRP $18
I was wishing to get the shade Brick Red, for my forever love for reds. But I received the option Wine Burgundy. This shade looks vamp-ish blood red to me, it actually look very good against my warm toned skin. But this is sort of colour that can also work on cool skin tones. I grew to love it.
The teardrop shaped bottle is very lovely, but I would prefer a slightly longer handle to give better control when applying the liquid lipstick.
This lip manicure (liquid lipstick) applies well and dries to a matte finish. It lasts for hours without the need for touch-ups. The only thing is that you will have to be precise and careful when applying it. It took cleansing oil plus a little rubbing to remove completely. OH and it smells like vanilla strawberry!
RiRe Pigment 3 Set (2.5g each), RRP $13
This probably impressed many people but for me being such a messy person, I am not sure I want to cover my carpet in pigments! I did get this out for swatching only, not used on myself yet. The colours included in this box are Snow White, A-Pink and Club Burgundy.
- Snow White is a super chunky glitter that is totally hard to swatch!
- A-Pink is exactly the same and so far I do not like these.
- Club Burgundy is the only one that swatched well and looks sooooo pretty.
Secret Key New Premium So Fast Hair Booster Hair Pack 150ml, RRP $24
Another hair pack……..(!) But I love using hair packs, can’t wait to pop this open when my current one is used up 🙂
M. Daida Butter Cream Lip Mask 20ml, RRP $13
A lip mask that is not a gel patch! It smells of body lotion / cacao butter, tastes awful! I do not suggest you taste or eat it ok? Just that I was curious! It contains some gritty bits, I believe it is some sort of grounded nut shell. But since there isn’t an ingredient list, this is my best guess!
Youngwoosa I Love You Oh Thank You Green Tea Seed Essence 40ml, RRP $14
For $14.. I am not sure how good this will be. I like how it sinks into the skin but I am not sure it is doing much else. I can always keep this for neck use?
Holika Holika Sweet Cotton Sebum Clear Powder in Mist 65ml, RRP $8
This is a cute little thing, it is used for setting makeup and I have used this once and the scent is acceptable and not too over powering. My makeup probably last a teeny weeny bit longer but not overly impressed. I am currently using Urban Decay Oil Slick, makeup does not budge but I do not think UD version is too good for my skin! I shall keep this in my makeup bag! ♡
Too Cool For School Play Cheek Angel Blusher 4ml, RRP $14
I do not own anything from this brand, it is actually exciting to discover new brands and get exposure to new things
Colour 02 Sweet Peach is included in the collab box, this is quite an easy to wear shade but it took me a few goes before it shows up on my cheeks. The packaging is cute and unusual, you can get to the blush by pulling on the ribbon, and the puff is secure at the bottom of the blusher.
A tiny mirror is also available.
The total retail value for this box is $104, the cost is $23 plus shipping. Pretty good deal I’d say! 🙂
I have a feeling there might be restocks of these collaboration boxes on Friday for the Memebox Black Friday sale. As it promises to restock some of the most popular and most loved boxes!
