Glossy Box UK – August 2014 unboxing & bye bye Glossy Box for now :(

Welcome, welcome to my extremely late Glossy Box UK August unboxing… *sob*sob*

To cut a long story short, I never had luck with my boxes from GB. My first box was late, this second box apparently was delivered on time but arrived into my office and got stuck in the In-Tray… for 2 weeks!! I have been waiting for 2 whole weeks 😦 My fault really..

August Glossy Box is a special edition to celebrate Glossy Box’s 3rd birthday.

Anyhow, here are my box contents for August

This pink box is made very well, I can say this is my favourite item from this month’s box!

Kryolan for GlossyBox – This is a cream highlighter, can be used on cheekbones, cupid bow and brow bone etc. I would probably give this a go! I have been using powdered highlighters so it would be a nice change, hoping it will last well on my combination oily skin. It will be a challenge!

Figs & Rouge hand cream – Girls can never have too many hand creams! This is a lovely handy size and you probably know that I am addicted to shea butters 😉

Yves Rocher pink nail polish – I haven’t used a Yves Rocher product for a very long time. I remember this brand can be ordered through mail catalogues or some sort. They seems to be making a comeback, I am seeing their products popping up in beauty boxes. Funny, as I was just downsizing my pink polish stash!

Philip Kingsley Elasticizer – This is a pre-shampoo treatment that designed to give your hair extra bounce, shine, manageability and elasticity. I yet to try this on my thick hair, I just had a cut couple of days ago =) [Why do I get so happy/excited having a haircut?]

Lalique L’Amour fragrance sample

Essence Long-lasting lipstick in neutral pink – This is probably one of the better items for me from this box. This is a very wearable warm-ish medium pink, look very much like my Rimmel Kate lipstick shade 05.

Yes and the bye bye… I have cancelled my subscription to GlossyBox, I need the money elsewhere and the highlights from the “Glossybox July” is hard to beat!!

Anyhow, they are making it so easy to sign up so there’s no real harm for me to cancel. If I do see what I like, I guess I just sign back up?! 😛

What’s your experience with beauty boxes? Mine’s on and off at the moment, I will have a serious think about other boxes. It seems one-off and ad-hoc boxes works out better for me.

Thank you for reading, I am planning something for this blog.. shhh!!
