Hiya all! It’s #SkincareFridays again! Today I am doing short and snappy reviews on 3 face moisturisers with high SPF (between SPF 30 to 50).
As we all know, we should really protect our skin from the harmful UV rays. This is to lower the risks of skin cancer, and prevent premature ageing on the skin. Summer should not be the only time you wear sunscreens, so make sure you use products that can help to protect your skin.
For summer, I would choose products with higher SPFs and wear sunglasses when I am out and about 🙂 A cap/hat would be great to avoid sunburn on your scalp!
My chosen 3 facial moisturisers with high SPFs!
1. Alpha H Daily Essential Moisturiser SPF50
This moisturiser is light weight and easy to wear. It provides enough moisturisation to my oily combination skin, but it does leave my skin slightly shiny. I have reviewed this here. The 50ml costs around £27, and you can order this full size from Cult Beauty.
Overall score: 2.5 out of 5
2. Ultrasun SPF 30 Face Anti Ageing Formula Once A Day
This is a titanium dioxide based mineral sunscreen, it is known to provide UVA protection against the sun’s most damaging rays.
It also contains an anti-ageing agent and it is free from perfume, preservatives and emulsifiers.
This smells slightly stronger of “Sun lotion smell” out of the 3. But it is not overly powering.
I would recommend this for oilier skin, it seems to provide less moisture when compared with the other 2 I am reviewing on this post. It is also a face moisturiser with SPF 30.
Again, this tube is part of a set and it is only 25ml. A full 50ml size will cost around £18.50 online.
Overall score: 3 out of 5
3. Neutrogena Healthy Defense Daily Moisturiser SPF 50
This is my favourite! It feels very comfortable on the skin, it is fragrance free although it does smell of something.
This is a mineral based sunscreen product, containing titanium dioxide and zinc oxide.
I think it is handy to have sunscreen in the moisturiser, so I don’t have to put on an extra layer. This product works very well under makeup.
This product is currently not available to purchase in the UK (well, you can get it, but for over £25 in amazon!! CRAZY). Available in the US for around $14USD.
Overall score: 4 out of 5
Studies show that sunscreen with SPF 15 can block about 93% of all incoming UVB rays. SPF 30 blocks 97%. SPF 50 blocks 98%.
There are ingredients that you should avoid (see here) especially you have sensitive skin or acne prone skin.
Thank you very much for reading, there are so many high spf moisturisers available on the market. I hope I’ve given you some ideas. I’m sure there are some great ones, if I come across any impressive ones. I’m sure to post a review for you.
Have a great weekend. Be good be safe 😀
