Triple Chocolate Blog Series Part 1! I think it would be nice to start off a chocolate themed blog series 😛 This is part 1 of 3, next will be for Skincare and the final blog will be on manicures. Please come back and indulge in chocolate yummy-ness (is this a word? hehehe)!
Calling all Chocoholics! Sweet treats from Too faced cosmetics in the form of a Chocolate Bar of equally yummy eyeshadow shades!!
The Chocolate Bar is an eye shadow palette packed with 16 great “smelling” shadows infused with real cocoa powder! I’m sure you have heard it all before about cocoa powder’s antioxidant and healing power, this is the reason why creative director Jarrod introduced cocoa powder into their product line. I am not complaining now, I do not find the scent annoying, it just makes me want to eat choc! Even Mr Cherry Lemon is tempted :p
This palette has a great mixture of matte and shimmer shades of neutral browns, pinks and funky plums. Very wearable colours indeed 🙂
This is a metal case in the shape of a chocolate bar, it has a magnetic closure which I do like! The names of the shadows are printed on the plastic protective film that comes inside the case. I find that the case is not too travel friendly, pretty clunky infact…
It has a how-to guide to get you started, but with such great selection of shades you can have many variations! Oh, and the mirror inside is a very good sized one too.
Once opened, there is a sweet chocolaty scent that is very noticeable. Fear not, you won’t be able to smell it when the shades are on your eyes 😛 hehehe
My favourite shades are Creme Brulee, Semi-sweet and Champagne Truffle; my favourite combo to use for a day to day look with a golden shimmer twist! Milk Chocolate is a great colour to use as a transition colour and in the crease to add that subtle definition.
Row 1 (from L to R): Gilded Ganache, White Chocolate, Milk Chocolate – Black Forest Truffle – Triple Fudge
Row 2 (from L to R): Salted Caramel, Marzipan, Semi-sweet, Strawberry Bon Bon, Candied Violet, Amaretto
Row 3 (from L to R): Hazelnut, Crème Brulee, Haute chocolate, Cherry Cordial, Champagne Truffle
In terms of pigmentation, apart from Strawberry Bon Bon which is a little sheer, the others are great. This is on par with Too Faced recent shadow palette offerings, such as “Few of my Favourite Things”, “Be Merry, Be Bright” etc.
All in all, I love this palette, I am not sure I would like it more than my Urban Decay Naked 2 thou 😛 I have been using it for the last 2 weeks and I am looking forward to use it for months to come 🙂 Until all the bright summer shades start to appear that is! ahhahaha
I think this palette is on the pricier side, maybe the chocolate infusion, maybe the casing.. with 16 shadows, maybe it can be justified. I am so happy I had saved up alot of Debenhams beauty reward points, I paid less than 50% of RRP ehehhe
