Nars, And God Created Woman. Eye palette review and photo swatches
This is one of the earliest eye palettes I’ve bought in 2013 and it soon sold out everywhere within couple of months!
I wasn’t going to review nor swatch this when it’s not available to buy. So, if you have missed it first time round when it was on sale… You can now get this from Space.NK website! As it is an online exclusive in limited numbers. I’m afraid you won’t be able to swatch the palette in person. BUT all of these shadows are available as singles (or part of a duo) so you can find these in department stores / Nars stockists such as Selfridges, Space.NK.
And God Created Woman is a neutral eye palette with super wearable shades. All shades are highly pigmented, little to no fall out and very flattering colours.
The palette comes with NARS No.3 eye shader/blender brush (in travel size) and a mini tube of their fabulous smudgeproof eyeshadow primer.
THE PALETTE: this palette is actually tiny! See photo for size comparison. It contains 6 super wearable and flattering shades. You can create so many looks with just 6 colours.
From top to bottom, left to right;
Alhambra: light champagne shimmery shade
Bellisima: light matte taupe
Kalahari: a warm taupe with shimmer
Galapagos: a rich brown with small amount of golden shimmer
Coconut Grove: a dark chocolate matte brown
Night Clubbing: A matte black with small amount of golden shimmer
(Please note that the new palette might not be sitting in the same order)
I love Kalahari! It’s so versatile and useable. I often pair this with the lightest shade Alhambra and Coconut Grove for a work day look.
Here are the swatches taken in natural day light without primer.
Same swatches taken under artificial lighting.
The shadows are all very nicely pigmented, with my NC30 skintone, only Bellisima needs a little bit layering. All shadows last very well with the shadow primer for around 7 to 8 hours.
BRUSH: I love the brush, it is on a slightly larger size so you won’t be able to do detail/small area blending. But it is great for applying a wash of colour, packing on colour and blend colours on crease line.
PRIMER: I am a UD primer potion supporter but this primer changed everything. It works better for me, when used, the shadows are easier to blend and the colours are more intense and longer lasting.
I am glad I got this palette, as it’s travel friendly and you can effortlessly create different looks. Just pack this and a mascara for your trip :o)
Maybe you can use or build up some N.Dulge points! Space.NK £40.50
